Everything is better with John Cleese!

Oh wait... [http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0970416/]

But to be fair, there's nothing Molyneaux could say to get me interested in Fable again...
To be fair, he did fuck all in that movie.

You know what else John Cleese is in? This movie, which has 2 people from my school playing lead roles. Now, I dunno about you, but I think that's FREAKING AWESOME!
2 people from your school are in "404 error- the movie?"

Impressive

To be honest I'm not all that impressed by celebrity voice actors of any sort due to the fact that they have nothing to do with the gameplay itself.

As ironic as it might sound, the only ones that might influance me are not big celebrities. For example Vin Diesel (who isn't big right now) is known to be a gamer, and seems to have had a positive influance on the "Riddick" game(s). Asia Carrera surprised me when I checked her out in more detail and found out she was actually a pretty serious gamer, she's a porn star but I'd imagine if she was involved in a game project she might actually have some standards/input. Allegedly Tera Patrick was involved in Saint's Row 2 as a producer, not just as a promotional gimmick (her role being minor in a piece of DLC), she's another porn star but again she was involved in what turned out to be one of the best games of it's year of release (and probably THE best, I agree with Yahtzee about how great that game is).

If you just want to see John Cleese play nutty characters, and make jokes, you can find tons of movies and videos, some of which aren't that expensive. Paying $60 to see him voice a bit part in a video game doesn't strike me as being a wise investment even for a big time fan.

Also, to put things into perspective Meagan Fox (who I don't knock as much as many people) who has comparitively done very little compared to any of those people, would probably carry more weight with me than John Cleese. Not a lot mind you, but I at least know she plays video games given some comments where Shia Labouef claimed he wouldn't play with her on the set of Transformers 2. That's not much of a qualification, but to be honest I'm not even sure if John Cleese has so much as picked up a controller in like 15 years. The only video game project he was ever involved in to my knowlege was "Mony Python's Complete Waste Of Time" (not sure if there were any more games he/they did) and that is an ancient PC game.

Being a professional actor, with no real gaming experience I can think of (meaning he likely doesn't even have an opinion), I'd imagine anyone could pay him to do this. All it shows is that Peter Molyneaux is willing to pay for a well known personality... it says nothing about the game, the script, or even whether or not John Cleese is invested in the project since he might very well just dial it in like Ron Perlman has in a couple of games. :p

This is actually quite awesome. Fable 3 didn't hold much in the hype stakes for me, but now it shall be pure awesome. Fable 2 had Stephen Fry, and Fable 3 is getting Cleese. Sweet.

Why do they keep making these crappy games. Will it have an ultimate spell you can get 1/5th of the way through the game that owns everything in sight? Will I be able to marry any character in the game so the character can move into my room and nag me when I get close to them? Will I have an annoying pet?
Stop. Please stop.

Awesome I may get to have a Cleese butler if the game doesn't fall flat.

Well, I'm looking forward to Fable 3 slightly more now. I do love John Cleese but his humour is a bit hit-or-miss to me.

I have had mixed feelings about Fable 3. On one hand, Molyneux doesn't ever quite deliver what he promises, and yet goes on with as much charisma as Richard Simmonds and Michael Jackson combined, acting as if he just single handedly defeated the space invaders with nothing but hit "Character Development", and will now proceed to make a game based off of it. And I have a sneaky suspicion that Fable 2 may have quite probably marked the beginning of a down hill pattern. ON THE OTHER HAND...... I am a born optimist and frequently make the mistake of putting more faith in people than they may or may not deserve. And now with John Cleese in the picture..... well who knows........ Oh but Molyneux... we in the game world have this message for you.... [Sub] *Ahem* [/Sub] DO NOT **** THIS UP! That is all. Your are dismissed....

Reasons to Buy the Game:

John Cleese
Johnathan Woss
Simon Pegg

Reasons not to:

Might be a bit rubbish

Hmmm so Hard! I wonder if Cleese had any part in the development of the character or did they just give him a shedload of cash?...I hope it's the former as Cleese is a brilliant writer...

Didn't see much Monty Python humour in Fable 2 I thought there was more in Fable 1!

To be honest, all I can say is: YAY! Someone learned that if you're going to get an epic voice actor, USE HIM...Don't kill him off quick (Stares at Oblivion and Fallout 3). I was already going to buy this, but now I must buy this :)

Now if they could also get the rest of the Pythons to play bit parts including Graham Chapman's urn as the lovely vase on the mantle...
Bit parts? Why not just have them do the whole damn thing? I mean, at this point, why not?

He is like a cross between Jeeves and Gordon from Batman.
I assume he meant to say like Alfred from Batman.
Seriously Peter, I can forgive you for overhyping your own games, but you shpuld know the name of Batmans butler. ^^

From what I watched so far ( about John Cleese ) I think that he'll fit just fine (dispite that his humour is hit-or-miss) in the "Fable atmosphere".
