I suggest watching the video before posting.

Now, i'm not entirely sure what i think of this mechanic because it could become quite annoying during the game and very troublesome of course for reviewers. When i buy the game, i want to be able to have all the mechanic's ready for me, not to have to level up since i would rather only use that for combat.

I'm just not sure, what do any of you think about it?

It's a level progression system.
It's a new kind of Level system though, whereas before it was just for combat and skills, this system means you have to wait to do things you shouldn't normally have to.

It sounds like a pretty interesting idea. I would want the ability to buy and sell houses but also want the abilities to do well in combat as well. It seems like they are giving us more freedom to shape the live of our characters in Fable 3.

It is certainly unique, but a good idea... I dunno. I'll reserve judgement for when I play.
Just let me customize my looks, confarn it!

At first I thought "this looks fucking stupid as fucking fuck!"

But then he explained the followers thing, and actually it sounds interesting... Like, you could do the economic ones and make a lot of money to get more followers to then unlock the combat chests and then move on to the next gate. I wonder, tho, how the character him/herself will level stats/abilities? Is that what the "red" chests are, or is it in addition?

What he said. I love upgrading and leveling up as much as the next player, but I don't want to have to level up separately my ability to have a house.. or to be able to fight monsters. One is about immersion.. and the other gains you experience points.
It depends on how they do it, ultimately, since the entire system is not within view to discuss. Like what exactly affects how many chests and so forth.
My initial reaction is scepticism.
