Now that Christmas is coming around the corner I have come face to face with a question I should love to hear yet dread- "what do you want for Christmas?" I can never think of anything I want. I'm lucky, and I don't NEED or WANT anything. All the games I'm looking forward to are coming out in spring, and as for anything else, well, what else is there for a 14 year old kid (any ideas would be nice)
But, I do remember having fond memories of getting Fable 2 a year (or two?) ago, and I quite liked it. Is it better then Fablle 2 alot? I have some questions about the game, and if someone replies I would be grateful.

1. Is the world not timy again? Seriously, that was berely a open world last time. Are there things to sort of -discover- like in Fallout NV?
2. I remember a while ago seeing a news update talking about how Fable 3 wasn't really a RPG and I basically desmised then and there. What are the changes to "leveling up" or improving your character?
3. Re-playability? Anything to do after you beat the main quest? Speaking of which,
4. More side quests?

Also, what other games would you suggesat I ask for Christmas? I had Black Ops (sold it) Halo, Fallout, and I don't want Assassin's Creed or Dead Rising. Are there any other new releases I'm missing?

Thanks in advance, you guys always post great advice.
Love ya,
Will

Well I'll give you my impressions.

1. World is about the same. It's not really so much a large world as a dense world. What I mean is there isn't a giant map to explore but there are decent size areas with keys, chests, inside jokes etc. hidden in little nooks again.

2. Leveling up is different. It seems more simplified. You get experience seals for combat, interacting with villagers, and quests and then you can unlock chests that will level up your combat skills, job skills, and unlock more social expressions.

3. Again about the same, although there are some side quests that won't even appear until you've completed the main story.

4. I don't know about more but there are some really good side quests this time.

Basically I would say if you liked Fable 2 you'll like Fable 3. There are some things that seem to be a step backwards (the new villager interaction system) but overall it's a good game.

The game is ridiculously mediocre. I'd say give it a rent, you'll have done everything interesting by then and have gotten tired of it already.

Save your wish for something better.

Stay away. You might enjoy it for a bit, maybe a whole playthrough. But the more you think about it, the more you realise how many awful decisions Lionhead made. It's not a good game.

Sup I said:
Wow, thanks guys. Are ANY other games out there?
Wait, so 4 comments from random people on the internet and you've decided not to go for Fable III? If you enjoyed Fable II, buy it - it's a good game, yes it features many of the series common flaws but it's not as bad as you might have been made to be beleive.

However, failing that I'd recommend:
- Lost Odyssey [Final Fantasy esque RPG - from a few years back]
- Alan Wake [Third person Action shooter]
- Enslaved : Odyssey to the West [Platformer]
- Splinter Cell : Conviction [Stealth-shooter]

To be honest it's really difficult to suggest you a game when you don't give the reader any information as to what games you enjoy / already own. Does it have to be a new release? Because bar Fable, Enslaved and Assasins Creed this Q4 is fairly medicore for new releases.

This is only half of the levelling system in Fable 3. Yes you need seals to unlock chests which contain certain abilities and upgrades to these weapons. However, to level up strength, stature and Magical Aura you actually need to use the corresponding ability, for example you only become stronger by using melee weapons. Most people tend to not notice this because you only notice it in-game by the change of you characters appearance. The only indication you can get on the progress of this stat is by looking on the stats screen.

I was looking for a new release. And they weren't strangers, they're my friends that I've never met before. But I trust their judgment.

Worth playing? Absolutely. Worth paying full price for? Probably not.

Since everyone gave pretty good details on the main points you asked, OP, I'm just gonna say this:

Fable 3 is pretty fun, but nowhere near as memorable as Fable 2.
