...Neat. I just might get this, if only for curiousity's sake.

I mean, come on, a chance to enrich the story of the world of Fable? Why not? I'll give it a chance.

I need a book to read. And I'm running out of legal thrillers...

Yes, I read legal thrillers. WHAT OF IT?!

You know, for all the stipid things he does, reasons like this are why I like Molyneux. All the overhyping aside he has some pretty cool ideas

Thats right kids. If you enjoyed the Fable serieses glorious storyline, but felt that the horrible gameplay and sidequests just got in the way, you can now enjoy the story in handy book format!

Where it becomes a chore rather than something exciting.
Sounds like real life to me.
That's my point. I thought Fable was representing something much more better if you ask me. Not being the Sims. I shot every wife in every town because I was getting tired of visiting them. After that, I had amassed many woman of the oldest profession as possible and became a "Swinger".
Disregard what I wrote before. I mistook what you were saying.

Fable isn't about falling in love though. You can do that and it's pretty vanilla like real life, but the story revolves around the kingdom and you saving/ravaging it.

Really? A Fable novel? Fable's universe is about as generic as they come, so generic that at times I wondered if it wasn't taking the piss out of a whole bunch of fantasy RPGs. But no, they expect you to care about all their whiny drama despite never making the characters the least bit likeable. The only person who endeared themselves to me in Fable 2 was the dog. I'm unsure how you could take such a world and make it into a compelling novel without simply filling it with gratuitous references to Fable canon.

If people have bought the Halo novels without the offer of a new weapon, then the same will probably apply to this one.

Now I'm interested. Didn't know that there would be a book. I like the Fable series enough, so maybe I'll get the book.

There is an assumption that every code will be the same, but I'd be inclined to believe it will be the usual slew of one use only codes that Microsoft use to regulate exclusive content on Xbox Live.

Therefore I hope these books are shrinkwrapped or somesuch, otherwise there will be a lot of very angry people come launch day.

Man, what blatant commercialisation... pre order and you get this and that, special edition scores you even more shite...and if you buy this book we will throw even more crap in.

... I wonder if you will be able to get any items by , you know actually playing the fucking game.

What next, epic underwear with each MC happy meal ? I wont touch this game or book if they paid me to now, and I urge all the gamers to do the same... I mean do we really want to encourage such amounts of exploiting of the titles ?
Wooow, slow down mate. No ones forcing you to buy the book, and its not like this weapon will be needed to complete the game (I was under the impression that in Fable 3 you have one weapon that grow along with you instead of having to upgrade any few levels anyway?). Why dont you wait to see how the game turns out before urging everyone not to buy it. Seriously. Special items for preordering or buying some game related thing, we havent seen ANY other company EVER do that, have we?
Thats my point, the special in game item handouts are getting worse. You may not NEED to buy the book, or have the weapon but it is a item in the game you will never be able to get because of your wallet, not your skill.
It is also getting worse and worse, virtually every main title on Steam has a pre-order bonus item or 10, special editions now come with exclusive maps (probably to be sold to the poorer plebs as a pack later), etc etc... its just escalating at a horrific rate.

I believe Americans call it 'nickle and diming', and I tell you the wait and see approach is wrong... send the message now before its acceptable policy.
It seems virtually every new title launches with some new shit the gamers are expected to get used to, new DRM, new microtransactions, DLC ridden half games... new ways to 'exploit' us, worst of all the majority laps it all up and thanks the suits for exploiting them.

I suppoose thats one way to push sales...heh. The question is how many people are actually going to bother buying something which...is likely not all that good as a read

Its just a con to get people to buy the book. Wait a week and google the code. Someone will put it out there.
I don't think you quite understand what the word "con" means.

I don't think you quite understand what the word "con" means.
And I think you are being a little too picky. Let it go.

If I were picky I would question how you would be able to google the code, because if you are to Google the code, you first need to know the code and if you do that, why would you google for it?
