As much as I like it, I don't think G+ will ever get to the level Facebook has
I'm not much more of a fan of Google than I am of Facebook, but it's worth mentioning that they said the same thing about Facebook compared to MySpace.
My good god, I actually forgot MySpace exists :O

True point, I remember MySpace instantly dying and Facebook being the most awesome thing ever in social networking history. (I don't think this, just a general opinion)

It would take a few years though I reckon, but if Facebook continue to piss people off, it may very well happen.

whew thats gonna be a tough one to shove down users throats. Because of course its just once a day.........right. I see that twinkle in your eye Zuckerberg. Sure it starts as once a day, until you get used to it. Then its twice then well who knows maybe "the next big thing" will come out by the time its 5 times a day. This hopefully will end in the massive boycott that i always hoped would happen but thats simply dreaming. Dumped my facebook 8 months ago and haven't looked back. For those of you who are thinking of switching over to google plus. Watch this youtube link and think about it for a minute.

I really don't know why i still have a Facebook account. I signed up in its early days, when I lived outside my home country and wanted to stay in touch with friends. Well, that didn't really work and I still don't visit that site more than once in a couple of months. The email address I have saved there is my "spam" mail so I don't even receive the notifications to my normal email.

All I really do there is change the privacy settings every time I hear they have changed something. I really should just delete my account...

As for the news, nope, not too happy about the idea. Even though I only occasionally check my account, I think the idea is just horrid. Yes, it will start with one ad a day, but then it gets to two and eventually every second post is an ad (sorry, "story"). Why would they say no to money? And I am not a fan of anything that remembers your browsing history or spews ad's to my friends based on what I like.
Delete is a strong word when used in connotation to facebook. seeing as anything you ever post there is owned by facebook until the end of time. You "deactivate" your facebook. If you turn it off for a year and sign on one day, guess what its all still there just how you left it. So remember kiddies when your posting those really funny pics from that weekend after finals at the bar....you know the ones you dont remember taking. They are owned by a foreign entity that you have no control over as long as you both shall live. You didn't see the ring Zuckerberg slipped on your hand? Neither did I. :/

Just another reason to avoid using Facebook anymore than I currently do. The only reason I even keep my account is because I have all of my family and past friends on there. I mean, we don't even keep in touch, but the repercussions aren't worth it.

Oh how right you are... I never upload any pictures there (apart from the three I've used as profile pics) and in all honesty, it actually pisses me off when people post pictures of me on their account. I have set my account so that people will not see pictures that I've been tagged in. Not a big help, but does make me feel better, if only a little. Luckily the pictures I'm in are not "the worst kind" :)

Isn't it possible to "delete" your facebook account by individually deleting every post, photo, etc. you've put up?

Nope. You don't own it, They do. They keep it all. Anything you've ever posted is stored on their dedicated servers.

You can delete it through pretty arduous means. Even then if you even accidentally establish connection in the next two weeks it restores.
