I've been on my computer for most of the evening and I just refreshed the page to see that my most recent events has been moved to the side, my 'On Chat' grouping has vanished and my News Feed isn't updating (since it last updated two people have liked photos and there's been one status update) and now if i want to chat i need to use the new thing (which i dont understand.)
not only that, but a few updates ago, the iphone app says 'its easier to share your phone number with all your friends' because the app will publish it. non-optionally. because i havent shared my phone number with the entire world because it takes too long apparently.
the actual reason is the 'Not Now' button. theres some twat who thinks we're friends, so he added me. i clicked 'Not Now'. he can still view my profile (apparently you can view a profile if you put in a request, according to cracked.com) and i dont want him knowing my mobile number.

What i really dont understand is why they would do this, and why they keep adding pointless shit and reorganising the layout when the only change the people who actually use the site (it is pretty much my entire social life apart from this site, and i'm not really friends with anyone, and the brony group on Steam) want a fucking dislike button.

so what is your opinion on the constant, pointless and confusing changes to facebook?

A lot of people are easily bored. In order to keep them interested, it's best to throw in some change from time to time. It also gives the impression that you stay up to date all the time. Besides, changing the lay out and such also makes room for new advertisements or new applications you need to pay for to download. It just boils down to money, not user friendlyness.

Pretty simple: stagnation is very bad for any product/service, especially ones like Facebook.

I don't really care. I use facebook for simple uses, so it doesn't make a big difference what they do anymore.
