So I'm here, given up on my physics work because its too late (Like 1:20AM) and I just have no more energy to turn into thought power. My work is due tomorrow and all I can think about is ways to get out of it.

What do you guys do if you face the deadline and havn't done the work, or done as much as you can?

Bite the bullet, and try not to do it again. It is usually better to tell a professor that you didn't prioritize and won't make that mistake again, then to try and come up with an excuse that makes you look you can't take responsibility for your actions.

When I couldn't finish an essay in time, I managed to get an extension because my pet rat had died. Don't get me wrong, I was really upset and it did disrupt my work, but I really should have done the work sooner, so I felt like I was just using it as an excuse and I felt a bit guilty.

Currently working on the next assignment and guess what? It's due tomorrow! Yup, I just don't learn my lesson, I do it time after time...

Luckily, this is my last essay and then I graduate from UNI!!! Argh, no, that means I have to get a job. Crap.

EDIT: This is actually a very fitting thread, lol

It's not often I let myself off the hook without having finished my work, but when I do, I fall back to the old standby; Squirrel Tactics. Scurry back home as fast as possible, hide out there for a few days with some drinks and a few seasons of "The Office" on DVD, then return to school/work hoping everything has blown over.

Ture, but I am just going to turn around to him and say 'Look, I couldn't do the work. You can give me half marks if you want but could you still help me with it.'

I'm a good child and do stuff when its assigned =.=

Just do the work already! Take a breather, go for a walk, get a snack or something and then DO THE ASSIGNMENT! You can do it!! Yaaay encouragement!!!

Or throw up. Nobody wants a sickie in class.

Hah, 1:20am, that's ideal working time!
Last week I was up til 4:30am doing a peice of work that was in for later that day.
Should I have done that and was it smart? Nope, not at all. Am I bothered? If I get a shitty mark I will be, but yet to happen *fingers crossed*.
Again, I'm now doing some work due in later today, because it's boring and a waste of my time. Much more fun to play around on 3DS Max and get my post count close to the glorious 1,000.
I was up until like 6am with a friend doing lab reports.. That sucked but we got them done. Also the 1000 post mark isn't much.. I got there yesterday.

Half-ass the work right before it's due... I do it all the time. :)
That exactly. As long as you don't get a mark for it, the teacher will only want to know if you've done it or no. Just half-ass it, filling in what you know and write down everything as short as possible. There is no way for them to counter a "I just didn't understand it" as long as it doesn't apply to the entire task.

Finally someone who understands procrastinating. But I'm not lazy enough to say "I didn't understand it" because after that you have to review your work. I rather simply say "At least I did it." :p

Another good choice, asking for help always scores points, although you don't want to sound belligerent.

We've all come across this issue at one time or another, So I'll gladly share my advice:
Your best bet is to copy from a friend early in the morning, or just man up and say you didn't plan too efficiently.

Tell your prof/teacher/boss that your work is going to be late, apologize, and get it done. That's all you can do.
