Now don't get me wrong I think any party is a bad idea. But I am fairly surprised at this little ditty.

If the image doesn't work the URL is: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_A4SfutjOGa4/SuDcGZWkteI/AAAAAAAAA1w/qnVmsvy6lxA/s1600-h/DJM.Census.JPG or http://georgiawomenvote.blogspot.com/2009/10/what-dem-invited-to-lead-republicans-in.html

It's an interesting departure from the earlier RNC attacks on the US census. I'm just curious what other people's thoughts are on this? Calling it a Census (something you by law have to do) then slipping in a line about sending back money seems a bit tricky to me. I've worked in retail for a bit and have found that unfortunately people can be highly gullible. I wonder just how much money they are going to nab by doing this. The image above came from one of their census letters that they sent to the 8th Congressional District Chair for the Democratic Party of Georgia. I'm not psychic but I think that might have been a wasted letter ;). At any rate the link below goes into it deeper.

If the Democrats were smart and assertive (which, apart from Alan Grayson, they aren't) they would totally use this to hit the Republicans over the head until their feet poked out the earth in China.

They aren't claiming the thing comes from the Census Bureau, only that is a census. I think it's a bad idea, clearly 'survey' would be a more appropriate word. It does say, however, that it's "Commissioned by the Republican Party". It appears to be some kind of internal survey sent to Republicans as the only choices for political affiliation are various Republican stances and "Other".

Also, is there other documentation that comes with this? Usually there's a flashy letter warning of impending doom if the party's coffers empty. What's the envelope look like? We need some context here!
