Fake glasses?

On another note about the colored contacts. I don't agree with the flash video about it being an attention seeking "whorish" thing to do. Colored contacts are nothing more than a form of make up and should be treated as such. (although we do make up to get some form of attention, so this is pretty much a loaded statement)

As I said earlier, I live in Tokyo where pretty much everyone is born with the same eye and hair color, so many girls wear colored contacts and similarly dye their hair to look different. I don't understand how that translates to being an attention seeking whore. They simply are looking for ways to look attractive and shouldn't be degraded for that.

Being somebody with extremely poor eyesight, of the myopic variety, the idea that anybody would wear glasses for fashion frustrates and infuriates me. Luckily, I've never had any confirmed sightings of anybody who does only wear a pair of spectacles for fashion, but if I do, they're going to have a few choice words directed towards them.

Why does that bother you so much? If anything you should be flattered that people would wear eyeglasses as an accessory, because that sure as hell didn't happen 30 years ago. Now eye-wear is seen as something "cool" and "hip" instead of being something worth making fun of.

To direct anger at anyone for how they dress or what they wear, in general, is bad, so why would you feel the need to do it to someone wearing fake lenses?

I have seen multiple hipsters and dumb girls wear fake glasses at our school. Since I actually need glasses for my eyesight. I see at insulting that people wear cheap fake glasses "just cause its cool" this isnt cool some people actually need them.

It just makes me want to punch those people in the face.

Yeah a few of my friends have fake glasses. I do find it pretty insulting actually, they go on about the glasses making them look bette or whatever, but they can take the damn things off and still be able to see.

If I ever do see someone like that, I'd simply laugh at them and yell out 'nerd!' Maybe "Hey jackass, what's the square root of 16?'


I'm not going to bother telling them my real thoughts because someone who's so desperate about looking smart that they wear fake glasses won't understand.
