ok so im a fucking wuss ...

every time i played fall out 3 i would freak out anytime i saw a radscorpion, sometimes turning the game off the second i saw one. i hate scorpions that much.

Im aware that new vegas has them and i know its inevitable that ill find them if i do decide to get the game but is there any like console command to remove them from the game or like a mod?

i want to get it but i hate radscorpions that much, i dont know why its only seems to be those guys in any videogame that has me shitting my self hiding under a blanket..

yes i know im probably gonna get laughed at for this

as far as I know theres no way to remove them from the game (Radscorpion phobia isn't very prominent) but I wont laugh at you, I have a friend who won't play any games with frogs in it because of her phobia for them

scorpians are ok to be scared of. atleast your not scared of peaches. but in my wandering of the wasteland i havent run into that many scorpians. like 1 or 2 near the start. then like 10 hours in i think there was a group of like 10 oof them.

Buy the fatman from the brotherhood of steel and bomb them, no need to be scared of bugs when you have nukes.

Hm. I don't know much about modding, but is there a way to "reskin" objects, so that the radscorpions appear as different creatures?

Also, maybe dealing with virtual scorpions can be therapeutic. Try not to get immersed, and its a lot less immersive the more friends you have in the room with you.

Hahahah...

Its spelt Fallout, one word. (sorry it kinda bothers me)

Anyway the laugh at the start was just cause you said you'll get laughed at, personally when I heard the little sister once in bioshock I just casually paused the game and went off for like 20 minutes.

I've no idea how to remove them from the game, but I'm fairly certain you can just avoid them.

I agree! Get a bigger gun! Thats the answer to all of life's problems! (the first part is serious) Maybe grab a flamer and burn there miserable hides and relish their agony as they slowly cook in their exoskeletons. Too morbid? Sorry, I have a huge headache right now and cant really think straight

...i think mixing pyramid head into the mix would actually make it less scary for me....

If you stick to the roads you will come across very few of them. That said I found a petrol station overrun by them.
The massive Radscorpions are pretty intimidating so I understand your dread.

They make my skin crawl. I usually run backwards blasting their stupid faces with a shotgun! :p

I hate feral gouls more though. Once in Fallout 3 I was tentitively exploring a really dark quiet area with no red blips on the radar so I thought I was safe. I heard the slightest noise to my right so I turned and suddenly the face of a goul FILLED my 32 inch screen along with its howling and raised arm ready to attack. I somehow hit VATS to freeze the image there and I jumped 10ft out of my seat.

Because of that whenever I'm in an area with gouls now I play in 3rd person. Yep, I'm a wuss.

I doubt it will be all that therapeutic. As in, encountering one Bark Scorpion is therapeutic (100 Energy + Incinerator + Bark Scorpion = rain of flaming scorpion chunks!), but finding even one adult Radscorpion is a harrowing experience, until later in the game perhaps. Finding, say, 3 Giant Radscorpions with a handful of "regular" ones nearby, all charging at you... that stuff might just give you arachnophobia even if you didn't have it before.

And don't even think about going to the Scorpion Gulch without weapons of mass destruction. If you get out of there alive and will have to do only a couple years in therapy, you're lucky :)

Better yet, don't go to the Scorpion Gulch. Nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Dont worry, they arnt half as plentiful as in fallout 3. Theyer also quite a bit easyer to kill because of the new "Ammo Types" system. There are smaller ones which are basically cannon fodder ((1 or 2 shots from anything offs them quickly)) and the larger ones have alot of armor but if you pick up some AP ((armor piercing rounds)) theyer basically blue 6 eyed mole rats.

They really arnt a threat, as long as you make sure your carrying AP rounds. if you are, you have absolutely nothing to fear from them.

On the other hand, if you arnt carrying AP rounds, your better off crippling theyer legs and running, because of how much regular ammo you have to blast them with.

Wait, scratch that, cripple theyer legs even if you have AP rounds. Makes them so much easyer to stay away from.

There aren't as many of them but when you do find them they are usually in large groups. I remember I made the mistake of going North from Goodsprings (start) and I ran into a group of 6-7 of them. I was scared out of my mind. Still, not as bad as the group of 8 (yes I counted them) Nightstalkers. Those things made me jump.

I share your phobia, I've had nightmares about those damn radscorpions. They freak me out so much with thier clicking legs and fast speed... ugh.

Hate them more than any other game enemy, plus they are twice as tough in NV as they were in Fallout 3 at least until later in the game).

I do this with scorpions and Mirelurks, but the companion system in New Vegas means sometimes your buddy will critical kill an enemy you didn't even know was there...

Imagine calmy wandering around and you suddenly a flaming giant radscorpion flashes onto your screen in VATS accompanied by a loud bang...

I nearly put a hole in the ceiling.
