Well i've just gotten Fallout 2, but I'm having problems installing the thing and with nowhere else to turn (no offense) I've decided to head off to The Escapist to see if anyone there may help me. My main issue right now is that once the game is installed it says that I need the CD to run it. The problem? The CD IS in the machine and it still says that the CD isn't in there!

I tried running it as the administrator, tried running it with different compatibility options, installed the 1.02e (UK) patch and asking it nicely, but so far no change has happened.

I guess for discussion value: Has anyone else had a problem like this and how did you get past it? (Assuming you got it fixed)

You know what, something similar is happening to me...

Fallout 1 is still playable however some of the colour are wildly off (brown areas coloured pink etc) it's not anything more than an inconvenience really and it should be easily fixed by running in Windows XP Service Pack 2 mode.

But every time I try and save the compatibility settings it just says there is no CD and asks me to enter it...

Strange thing it is.
