I'm a huge sucker for western RPGs. Especially when they are big and shinny. When I picked up Mass Effect and Fallout 3 for the PC I was blown off. These things are simply SUPERB. The developers of these 2 games should get a Nobel Prize. Im still playing and this probably my 54998934823 playthrough but I cant stop myself. What are your thoughts about these masterpieces?

Love 'em both (as if you couldn't tell I love ME from my avy). I was on my 9th playthrough of ME when my 360 bricked recently, and my third playthrough of FO3. What can I say, I'm a sucker for FPSRPGs.

Both games are really good. They both provide a world ( or universe) that is worthy of exploration. Also, you cant help but just wondering if these two worlds would ever exsist in another demension

Haven't played Mass Effect, which, as I hear is a god damn WAR CRIME on my part.

I love Fallout 3 though.

Well, I can definitely see the capital wasteland existing...

Anyway. FO3 is my favorite game of all time. ME was excellent for a while, but it got boring for me during the second playthrough.

Fallout 3 for me mostly due to all that crap with Securom during the initial release of ME.

I have a 360 and I can't disagree, I traded all my games save the best at EB and I now only have Fallout3, GTA4 (cuz I'm too lazy and cheap to switch to saint's row 2), Mass Effect, Jade Empire (Big Fat Duh) and Lost Planet.

And that's ALL I'll have until Prototype, Red Faction and a few others come out.

(although I'm thinking about getting KOTOR)

Not playing these games is a crime indeed. Anyone who missed then should be hanged, castrated and shot :DD.

I absolutely loved them both. Fallout 3 for its gripping story, awesome weapons, and really fun quests. Mass Effect for its leveling system, universe, and EPIC aesthetics!! One complaint on Mass Effect, exploring all those planets more than once was a *****!! It might have been a lil' too big...

You really enjoy putting two games into one handy little thread of discussion, don't you? But I admit I like this one because they both paint very conflicting views of the future. It seems like humanity as a crossroads, will we go the way of Mass Effect, or Fallout 3?

I pray for Fallout 3. I couldn't stand listening to the almighty alien overlords talking in American accents for all eternity. It'd bruise my British patriotism quite heartily.

I still preferred Fallout 3, I like games that paint bleak pictures of the future. I'm not just a glass half empty, I'm a "That guy probably spit in this glass, and I just drank half of it" kinda guy.

Wasn't the initial release, they only released it for PC after some time on the 360. Still, SecuROM can make a good game bad.

I laughed when I read the OP. Seriously, I think you meant "blown away." Fallout 3's not quite that good...
