... No one does read my posts... **hangs head**

Edit: No one's gonna read this, eh? Seems everyone is gonna continually ask about importation...
Um you do realise people will do with Fallout 3 like Postal 2 and the first retail version?
Either get pirates off the internet, or just pay someone in the 'States to mail it to them...
Getting banned games in Australia isn't hard.

Unless they region lock the consoles... But I doubt that one strangely.
Anyway protest is useless thanks to that Christian F***bag with a hard-on for Robert McClelland's job...

Well, I've just dropped my goals to help the Australian public. Point me towards the nearest government building and plug your ears...

The problem is will it get through customs if we order it from over seas or can it be passed through no problem because that would kill aussie ilegal importation.

Also i think Australia will be #1 pirates of Fallout 3

Just to clear the air here...Fallout 3 has not been outright banned. [http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/53539]

They'll take out the "drugs" - everything else fits with the +15 rating.

Actually, importing Fallout 3 won't be a problem, at least not according to our pals at Australian Gamer.

Update here. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/84959-Fallout-3-In-Australia-The-Real-Skinny]

I don't understand why the Australian government is so strict with this stuff, it's rated mature, whats the big deal? It's not like it has an everyone rating and handing copys of the game to small children. But I guess that doesn't matter to me because I live in the great USA.

Wouldn't it just be easier to get out the Fat Man and nuke their asses and loot their corpses? Yeah, they'd probably just have Pre-War Money...

Jokes aside, who was in charge of this decision? 'Cause he's a real dope.

threadomancy combo?

If it had stuck, pirates would have chuckled with glee.

This looks like a job for....
A Chaser-esque Stunt.

I need four total Sydney nerds - 1 dressed as a vault dweller, 1 dressed as Mark Ecko, 1 dressed as the guy from Dark Sector, and 1 dressed as the character from the original Manhunt. We approach Kirribilli house and speak about it as if it were an immigration matter.

"Mr. Prime Minister, you've said many times that you are opposed to the racism that marked the [previous government. But just look at these people who are still being turned away from Australia. How can you justify this, Mr. Rudd?"

I'm dead serious people. Look, at the very worst, we'll gain a small measure of fame in Sydney, and amongst the gaming community at large.
Oi?

I think I'd probably had killed the prime minister and all the people who "matter" (massive hyperbole) in Australia if I had lived there. Honestly, I'd have massive, loathing hatred for anyone who would try and take my lovingly rendered blood out of the videogame industry. How long will it take for everyone to realize that all any government has ever done was impose large unnecessary laws on people until they can bear it no longer and have to sail halfway around the world to get away from it, then somehow manage to screw it up themselves. I'd say anarchy would be the most logical answer to this, but then there would be looting and such.

What we need is a good, old fashioned, let one minority take care of themselves rule, it'd get rid of all the stupid people.

I heard somewhere that there was some controversy over the names of the drugs in Fallout being too similar to the names of real drugs, or something equally stupid.

Australians sure do love banning things.

Wait. There's in-game drug use?
To be honest, I've played 90 goddamn hours of this game, and I can't remember a single scene of that being displayed. All the drug "users" I met are portrayed in a negative light too: the developer isn't glorifying it as much as they are showing how bad it is to use drugs. Even if you use drugs yourself in the game, there's a bunch of penalties that pop up if you get addicted that are a severe put-off to using them save for the most desperate situations.

And how can they "refuse" to rate a game? Is that just what the A-for-Adult standard is over there?

All this is doing is taking major buisness away from people that sell games in Australia, and giving it all to Ebay. Nice move by the government there: get rid of local buisnesses.
