Hey folks, i just grabbed the GOTY edition of fallout 3 for PC and was wondering, should i play vanilla fallout 3 for a while so i will notice the expansions as unique when i install them, or should i just install all the DLC at the start and have them in my game from the get go?

Unless you want to run around with the Alien Blaster, just install them right way. You have to go to designated areas for the expansions to be triggered. In fact, it is recommended that you do Operation Anchorage as soon as you leave the vault because you get some pretty serious weapons and can wear power armor at an early level.

Wouldn't that make the game just easy-sauce?

Doesn't really make a whole lot of difference. Like someone said, you have to specifically activate the quests if you want to do them, they don't interfere with anything. Only thing is, you definitely want to install Broken Steel before you hit level 20 so that you can carry on getting experience points up to level 30.

It depends on the difficulty setting. Plus, you may get a laser/plasma rifle at the end of Operation Anchorage, but you still aren't accruate with it, and you can't repair it because it'll be a while before you run into another one.

The only thing that you'll get a helpful boost in is caps, and even then, by the end of the game caps aren't hard to come by. One of my characters is level 29 and if I sold everything I had, I'd have at least 200,000 caps.
