I'd just like to offer a rebuttal.
First, one thing's superiority over another is subjective, so you can't quite say that XBLA is better, sorry.
Which is why I provided reasoning to support my decision, since the typical PS3 fan's argument is "XBL costs money, PSN is free, therefore PSN > XBL". More content, more games, superior multiplayer matchmaking and party system for online gaming. About the only thing Sony is presently doing better is Home which... you know I honestly don't consider that to be an advantage. When Microsoft stoops to that level of creating a ridiculous virtual environment where you walk around, watch advertisements and line up to play imaginary bowling we might be able to have a balanced discussion on the matter - we already have our stupid cartoon avatars, so I'm sure it's coming eventually.
All that aside, I'd still rather pay to play. I know that while XBL is profitable for Microsoft they will continue to fully support it. Peer to peer gaming means I don't have to stop playing a game onlnie when a studio no longer supports it enough to keep the servers running (hope you weren't a Shadowrun fan, that had multiplayer support for like 2 weeks? Granted it sucked, but still...)
Also, I get occasional discounts on DLC and games for being a gold subscriber.
And to your point regarding the quantity of games that you've bought off of each service: Perhaps the titles available on XBLA are more appealing to you than those on PSN? Each service has different games that cater to different people, so again, no definitive conclusion of superiority here.
Ah, so the fact that there are only a handful of decent games on PSN (and far less content in general) is my fault, not Sony's? If you know someone who owns both the PS3 and 360 and prefers the arcade games (not retail-release titles in downloadable format) available on PSN over the ones on XBL, please introduce them to me. The Easter Bunny and I will meet you at the top of the Empire State Building on the next Friday the 13th.
And just a technical niggle, but the
Broken Steel DLC was released on the 5th of this month, so I don't think that it qualifies as being old news for four to five months
And when does Broken Steel come out on PSN? Late June? Yeah, Bethesda haven't met a deadline on DLC yet, what they really mean is early July. Broken Steel was originally due on the 360 in
March.
So best case scenario, you're getting content ~around~ two months after it's been out on XBL, and four months after it was meant to be out in the first place. If you're
lucky.
