Scorned Playstation owners take a look at the above link.
Also, there will be two more DLC packs added to the game for all platforms (Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta).

awe, I just sold my copy of Fallout3 T_T
Well Anchorage comes out end of June so you have a while to get another one. Plus, in October there will be a GOTY version with all five expansions.
What i'm curious about is how big these two new packs will be in terms of gameplay.

Ah well, I'm sure you guys can now enjoy the buggy crashing mess of Bethesda Fallout DLC. Still, sucks to still be playing last years' (single player) games so I think 360 still wins there Mazty =)

I will probably wait until the GOTY edition to get it.

I have a question though for people who have bought a GOTY edition before. Does a save from the regular edition work in the GOTY edition, or do you have to start all over again from the beginning?

I am not sure about fallout 3s GOTY ED. but with oblivion it was just the game disc and a second disc for installing the DLC.

Yeah there's a news thread on this.
Either way: Hurrah, I hate DLC, but another reason to stick it to the 'tards who scream XBL is better than PSN.
I hope for your sake you're trolling.
XBL is better than PSN. That's why I'd rather pay to use the service on my 360 than paly online for free over PSN. It's why I have about 50 XBL arcade games and two games off PSN.
And now PSN is getting XBL's sloppy seconds, four to five months after it became old news.

Yeah man. PSN is the real winner here. Especially with the GOTY edition coming out around the same time as the DLC is done downloading to your hard drive.

I'm glad you're happy about getting the Fallout 3 DLC, because it's pretty awesome content. But... I just don't see how this proved whatever point you were making.

Saw that coming.
Whats the point of Exclusive DLC if it always ports? Isn't the GTA IV DLC doing the same exact thing?

What's wrong with playing phenomenal (albeit old) single player games? I myself still enjoy a bit of MGS4, Okami, Oblivion, and GTA IV. And theoretically, since the unreleased DLC (Point Lookout & Mothership Zeta) will be released on the 360/PC while the PS3 owners get the previous DLC packs, won't 360 owners still be playing one of last year's single player games as well? (albeit, a slightly more updated version)

Aaaand Back on topic: This is some enticing news, now I just need to decide whether I want to get all the DLC at once or buy them when they're each released.

I'd just like to offer a rebuttal.

First, one thing's superiority over another is subjective, so you can't quite say that XBLA is better, sorry.

And to your point regarding the quantity of games that you've bought off of each service: Perhaps the titles available on XBLA are more appealing to you than those on PSN? Each service has different games that cater to different people, so again, no definitive conclusion of superiority here.

And just a technical niggle, but the Broken Steel DLC was released on the 5th of this month, so I don't think that it qualifies as being old news for four to five months ;)

And I don't see how having PSN or XBLA will affect your download speeds.

Mothership Zeta is the one where the aliens come down to Earth looking for the alien you find in the crashed spaceship right? If so, then I'm pumped. More alien blaster ammo!

How is XBL better???
Seriously, that is just inane fanboy nonsense with no logical reasoning.
All you get is timed exclusives, timed exclusives, for a monthly fee. No thanks, i'd rather wait, and not rack up a colossal bill over time.
XBL may have a few okay arcade games, but I bought a console to play full games like Uncharted or Killzone. Plus I'm sure there are many good exclusives (Flower, WipeoutHD), but honestly, I'm really not bothered about small, cheap thrills of a game.
Oh, the timeless comment of PSN speed. Which is fine, so I have no idea what you are on about. You should be asking why were you told it was an exclusive, when it was just a timed exclusive - big difference.
My point was many 360 fanboys scream about the exclusive XBL content. To see it go is a laugh, as so many denied it would happen. Though it does suck to those who bought a 360/Fallout for the 360 as we were all told the DLC was exclusive.
Congratulations, you addressed none of my points. This has nothing to do with what games you bought your PS3 for. Blah blah Uncharted, blah blah Killzone 2. I've played those games on my PS3 too, and I enjoyed them. This has nothing to do with the PSN services.
I experience a slower PSN service but this is probably because the PS3 is wi-fi while the 360 is cabled. That's not what I'm referring to. What I mean is that the DLC is going to trickle out in the next few months and by the time the DLC is available on PSN the GOTY edition will be out, so why bother with the DLC? You could trade your copy of Fallout 3 for the GOTY edition and spend less money than you would downloading the DLC. Granted, I could have done the same thign, but I started buying the DLC before they announced a GOTY edition and before we knew there was going to be more after Broken Steel. No point in turning back now.

Timed exclusive is still exclusive - exclusive enough for Microsoft's marketing division. Anyone who takes that kind of garbage seriously anymore deserves your ridicule. Anyone who bought a 360 on the basis of it's exclusive content has already done so. Porting DLC only affects people who've already made a console/game investment anyway, so the fact that the PS3 version of Fallout 3 is getting the content too? Frankly, that's wonderful. Like I said it's good content and I don't see why buying a different console should prevent you enjoying it.
But getting content later than your competitor... well do you call yourself the winner when you arrive after your opponent in a race?

Which is why I provided reasoning to support my decision, since the typical PS3 fan's argument is "XBL costs money, PSN is free, therefore PSN > XBL". More content, more games, superior multiplayer matchmaking and party system for online gaming. About the only thing Sony is presently doing better is Home which... you know I honestly don't consider that to be an advantage. When Microsoft stoops to that level of creating a ridiculous virtual environment where you walk around, watch advertisements and line up to play imaginary bowling we might be able to have a balanced discussion on the matter - we already have our stupid cartoon avatars, so I'm sure it's coming eventually.
All that aside, I'd still rather pay to play. I know that while XBL is profitable for Microsoft they will continue to fully support it. Peer to peer gaming means I don't have to stop playing a game onlnie when a studio no longer supports it enough to keep the servers running (hope you weren't a Shadowrun fan, that had multiplayer support for like 2 weeks? Granted it sucked, but still...)
Also, I get occasional discounts on DLC and games for being a gold subscriber.

And to your point regarding the quantity of games that you've bought off of each service: Perhaps the titles available on XBLA are more appealing to you than those on PSN? Each service has different games that cater to different people, so again, no definitive conclusion of superiority here.
Ah, so the fact that there are only a handful of decent games on PSN (and far less content in general) is my fault, not Sony's? If you know someone who owns both the PS3 and 360 and prefers the arcade games (not retail-release titles in downloadable format) available on PSN over the ones on XBL, please introduce them to me. The Easter Bunny and I will meet you at the top of the Empire State Building on the next Friday the 13th.

And just a technical niggle, but the Broken Steel DLC was released on the 5th of this month, so I don't think that it qualifies as being old news for four to five months ;)
And when does Broken Steel come out on PSN? Late June? Yeah, Bethesda haven't met a deadline on DLC yet, what they really mean is early July. Broken Steel was originally due on the 360 in March.
So best case scenario, you're getting content ~around~ two months after it's been out on XBL, and four months after it was meant to be out in the first place. If you're lucky.

I will agree that XBLA is executed beautifully, but that's not to say that PSN is all to shabby either. PSN has never failed me (with the exception of CoD's detestable host-based servers, but that's a different rant in itself), and if the actual online gameplay is flawless, then I'd say the other additions are simply accessories. But regarding your comment on how most people use the free > cost argument, I'd say that fits into my subjectivity theory, as different people will have different priorities regarding this issue of cost. And on a closing note, yeah, Home isn't all its cracked up to be =S

I never blamed you for anything, I just suggested that perhaps XBLA's games were more appealing to you, I'm sorry if my words sounded less than friendly. Anyway, The lack of content of PSN is a legitimate issue, but I"m assuming that this will fix itself over time. (Eagerly awaits Katamari Damacy Tribute)

True, and add a few days to a week, given Bethesda's track record of delivering severly broken DLC that they then scramble to patch.
