I'm curious though, if he were to go ahead and make more sets to be available for sale, would he then have to contact Hasbro, (who owns the rights/branding to Monopoly) and negotiate a license to sell them? It's one thing to have a hobby and make a new concept model off of a trademarked item, it's another to market that item to the public.
NM....I looked up the answer to my own question...Monopoly gets a pass because the term is considered public domain. Sorry for the doubt.
