Fallout 3 game error (PS3)

I'm in the Sub-Memorial Basment at Jefferson Memorial in Fallout 3 and every time I try to get back into the Gift Shop the game freezes in the load. Restarting the ps3 doesn't help.

This is really frustrating as I can't continue playing the game without getting out of that fucking basement!
Does anyone know any way to get around this??

EDIT: Maybe I could get another disk, but still....

hmmmmm im not sure, ive not run into any such errors.. but i got a PC copy.., you put on any cheats or anything?

could easily be a botched disk

that's just the sort of thing that happens with a botched disk

check your disk for scratches and breaks (most commonly the result of wrenching it out of its case too hard, the disc can actually snap in half, only staying together because of the label.) if there is any scratching or splitting or any kind, that is more then likely the issue.

could also try cleaning the disk.

I play on Xbox, but I work with a guy who plays it on PS3. He's actually the one who highly recommended it, saying that everyone told it him was glitchy on the the PS3 but he hadn't had any serious problems with it.

If he's a work tonight, I'll ask him about it for you. If you don't already have an answer by then.

well if theres a few things you can do, Reload from a earlier Point, bring it up on the games Forum or site, try going out through another door, or restart from scratch and save in more then one slot(i hope you dont gotta do the last one)

I saved so much playing Fallout 3

my total save files total 120 MB

and that's AFTER erasing 50 saves.

wow.

I really did save a lot in that game. haha

my other saves on this HDD are:

Bioshock, 6MB
Mass Effect, 10MB
Soulcalibur 4, 908KB
TFU, 320KB

and then Fallout 3, at 119MB

i save in 4 dif slots at any given time, i bump the bottom one to the top in a rotating fasion, it works i find for times when ive gone Somewhere i shouldent, and now im dead, going in or out
