Ok, so I'm on the quest where you have to escort Doctor Li to the Citadel. I already escorted her there and she yelled into the intercom and everything, and the gate opened and all of us went inside, but it didn't give me the quest. I didn't know what to do so I just went and did other side quests, and then I came back to the Citadel. However, now every time I walk in more than 5 feet it freezes me in place, and I see Doctor Li walk past me, and the other scientists come out to greet her or whatever, but I can't move at all, look at my Pip-Boy, take out a weapon or anything, and I still haven't gotten the quest. Does anyone know what I should do to fix this?

No, I don't have a save point earlier than this.

What platform are you playing it on?

Ohh and it's a Bethesda game - that means have at least 10 backed up saves as they are completely unprofessional about game making. They can't even make PC games that actually quit when you click "Quit" - they just crash to desktop.

That last one seems to happen to Source Engine games as well as just Bethesda by the way, and with far more regularity than it happens with Fallout 3 for me. Doesn't make them any worse as games.

Did you talk to the guard or Doctor Li after this happened? If so, THAT'S what happened. I did the same thing. Just re-load to the auto save and just stand next to her and do NOTHING. That should do it.

I know there's AI glitches that will randomly kill NPCs that have quests, so this sounds along those lines. Making multiple saves is the best advice you can use until they patch it....again. Still love the game though.

Yeesh... that really sucks. The only thing I could suggest is to find a way to 'cheat' I guess around the area. I remember that I actually finished a quest I had practically never started by accident because I unlocked a door in little lamplight through the console because I didn't know where else to go. Next thing I know I finished the quest I never started and was given a new one. Oops. :\

(actually now that I think about it I think it was the quest I was given at the citadel but I could be wrong. just keep in mind you'll be missing out on a chunk of the game; i don't recommend it.)

Maybe so, but still... Bethesda are generally known for the shoddyness of their titles. It normally takes a slew of patches and community patches to bring their games up to an acceptable standard of completeness.

It pays to remember though that Bethesda games are HUGE and it is somewhat understandable that the glitches are as widespread (However not near as horrible as the crap-fest Fable 2)

That's the problem though; she isn't standing there before I open the door to the Citadel, but once I open it and walk in, she walks in behind me, and walks right past me and past Elder Lyons and Sentinel Lyons. I also already did talk to the guard standing outside, and to Doctor Li (as I already said, I already escorted her into the Citadel but didn't get the quest), and it did nothing. Come to think of it, the game removed "The Waters of Life" from my current quest and replaced it with "Picking up the Trail," but for some reason it starts with escorting Doctor Li inside still.

I can't "cheat" my way past it, as I am playing it on the Xbox 360.

Yes, they make glitchy games, but the games are also fairly good most of the time if you can get past the glitches.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve this glitch problem (which was the point of this thread)?

Here I am, to to save you from pointless posting that doesn't solve the problem!

Is the game installed on your hard drive? if so, remove it immediately, then remove all updates on your 360. (Go to the Xbox Dashboard and select Memory. Highlight the HD symbol and press Y. Press X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X. )

then play the game (offline, mind you - without the update/s) and see if the problem is fixed. chances are it isn't. get online, re-download the patches, and you should be kosher.

You're welcome.

Doesn't this like delete all the updates/patches for every game on your Xbox 360? I wouldn't do it if I have many games for my Xbox 360. I'd rather replay the whole game.

While I thank you for attempting to solve this for me, I didn't use this. I found another way around it.

Pffffffffft. I'd like to see you do a better job.

On topic, yes, Bethesda games glitch sometimes. If you don't have an earlier save than that, you're kind of screwed. :/

Bethesda either has the worst testers in the industry or they just don't care. I just got the dlc and i've seen a teamates face go transparent and got trapped in a droid pod because I teleported into it using vats.
