Now since I've never played any other fallout game I honestly didn't care much about the story being canon and what not. What truly bothered me about fallout were the little things. One quest in particular had me saving every 2 minutes not because the game crashed or the encounters for extremely difficult, it was the NPCs that I had to escort. They got stuck on almost everything or my favorite would run half way across the world to a very, very, angry fortress full of very, very, crazy well armed raiders and not only decided it was a great idea to open fire in the open but to stand still or just not fire back. Now not only is the AI sort of iffy in some parts but the path finding for many of them is horrible as well; many a time have I sat and watched a group of NPCs bunch up next to a car because they can't walk around it. Now when I look back at oblivion I remembered one thing that I loved about it. Once you finish the main quest and the expansions main quest nothing happens. what I mean is you can still run around and finish the up the loose ends and enjoy what the world had to offer with your super armor and super weapons, with fallout you get the "start from last save" ending which in my eyes is pretty much a kick in the balls. After wading through 20-30 hour of game play and finally getting the very bad ass Tesla power armor and plasma rifle. I never get to really play with it other then the end of the game and that totally killed this game for me.
