Ok, so, I'm about to start playing Fallout 3 again, and I'm wondering what mods people would recommend for me to try out in order to improve the game - further, which of the DLC (assuming I can get it for PC) I should get; at the very least, I want to be able to continue the game after the bloody stupid story ending.

The DLC is mostly pretty good, I've only played Anchoridge and Pitt, Steel is def worth the extra levels.

As for mods, fallout3nexus.com has some pretty good ones, mainly greenworld, which takes away the green tint from the game, makes it a lot better IMO. Mainly check out the top 100 and see what looks good for you.

Everytime I see a Fallout 3 thread I like to complain about the DLC being so delayed for PS3...I don't reckon this month is gonna bring me the goods.

Edit: I believe that Broken steel is supposed to be very good.

Soon hopefully, I'm tired of looking at empty trophy slots.

Edit: Broken Steel and Pitts look good.

Point Lookout is the best.
Broken Steel is great, especially the raised level cap.
Mothership Zeta is good, yet tedious.
The Pitt was...decent.
Haven't tried Anchorage yet.

I don't have any of the dlcs, but I do use a few mods.

I use this tactical vest one, just because it looks cool. I also use the usable cigarettes mod, just for immersion, and I also downloaded a carbine mod to compliment the tactical vest. In tandem, they all work really well.

What I do on fallout3nexus.com is to go into the 'files' section, select 'browse' and look at the different categories like weapons or gameplay mods. Then I select to search by amount of endorsments received on the files and pick the best ones. Also, download Fallout Mod Manager (FOMM) to use the mods properly, as well as the Archive Invalidation Fix and FOSE to help with compatibility.
Sounds like good advice, I'll give it a try

if i was you i would get the broken steel dlc first because that would increase your level cap to 30 so when your completing the other dlc you will find it alot easier. and plus if you already max to twenty you wont get any more experiance completing the dlc that you download, after that i recomend either getting the pitt dlc because the map is intreasting and it adds a new and intreast part of the world to the fallout universe plus the power armour looks pritty cool what you get there.

OH! I almost forgot, I HIGHLY recommend the Weapon Mod Kits, it adds a lot more complexity to the whole weapons system, allows you to upgrade your weapons with different equipment.
