Yes, and I can also say that i didn't want F3 to be like this. If I wanted a gritty post-apocalyptic survivial game, I would play STALKER or something.
If you wanted Fallout 1 and 2, you should have played Fallout 1 and 2. Admit it, Fallout 3 was doomed from the start, when it comes to the fanboy group. Oh no, it's made by Bethesda, it's 3D, has a FPS/TPS perspective, and real-time combat. Burn it at the stake. And Fallout 3 is far, FAR from a gritty survival game, with a lot of modding (about a year's worth, in my case), you can sort of get a survival feel going, but the vanilla game is a laugh, you can unload 20 rounds into an unarmoured human, and he shrugs it off...
It seems to me that whether you like Fallout 3 is based on whether you were a fan of the previous games or not. I didn't like them much, so Fallout 3 was a (surprising) jewel for me. I expected it to be garbage, but played it once and was hooked. Fans of the previous games expected Fallout 3 to be more of the same, and were disappointed when it wasn't. The don't enjoy the game because they compare it to Fallout 1 or 2 at every turn, when they should really just enjoy the game for what it is.
