Fallout 3 Plugin Ideas

Either this hasn't been done yet, or my search fu has failed.

Name something in Fallout 3 you'd like to see in a player-made plugin.

Example idea I just came up with (no doubt inspired by that GNR thread we've got going on):

A module that you install in Galaxy News Radio's broadcasting equipment that lets you skip to the next song or segment. Doing so gives you a hit of karma, since you just dissed any NPCs you might have been waiting to hear that song you skipped.

OT: I have no ideas, if I did I'd go out and make whatever my idea would be.

Ongoing "mini wars"? You help either side, you get karma depending on whose side you pick.


If you have bad karma raiders treat you as one of them.


You can recruit a small army of followers instead of the one. (plus dogmeat)


You can "dye" armour (Like in Fable 2)

I don't know what plugins are out there since I don't own the PC version however, I would like to see more houses that you could live in, maybe more house themes, and more assault rifles.

I actually did this by rescuing Shorty and Red, giving them Power Armor, good guns, and having Dogmeat and Fawkes in my party as well. They were unstoppable... until a raider threw a grenade at a car they were standing next to. I didn't think they could fly that far... I just reloaded my last save though and got them back.

I actually have a few ideas for mini-DLC or small mods (the DLC would be free, of course):
1. "Holidays": There would be certain holidays that the NPCs would celebrate. For example, on, say, Christmas, some of the towns would be lit up with strings of lights, and certain NPCs would have different dialog. They could also make up holidays, like a week of celebration of Atom's Light for the Church of Atom people. The holidays' occurrence would correspond with the day of the year it occurs on on the in-game calendar. I can think of a few holidays that would really work well (Independence Day would be a good opportunity for sarcastic humor, for example).

2. "Records": there are random records scattered throughout the world in different places, and if you picked it up and gave them to Three Dog, he would give you a reward and then you would hear the song randomly on GNR.

that is not true you can actually have all of the followers even on the console though there is really no point.

There is a place that may actually already have these mods made. PC-only of course, unless you plan on voiding any console warranties.

Note the word MAY, and you might have to search forever, because it is a MASSIVE website filled with mods made for fallout 3.

I personally would like to see more variety in color for armors too. A dye system would work nice, but I haven't found any good mods for that. Nor do i have the skill to edit meshes and textures to make it work. This is a fun thread because I have worked on some small player-made plugins (mods) myself. Not released of course, except for a small script I made for removing the scope from the sniper rifle so you can carry it around for scouting purposes.

that is not true you can actually have all of the followers even on the console though there is really no point.

its not live oblivions staff of wyrms glitch is it?

no its a simple glitch that involves killing dog meat multiple times and using the free companion slot to recruit some one new then go and grab another puppy. kind of pointless though because there is already not much that can kill fawkes when ur lvl 20 or up
