My first review. So, don't tear me apart.

I'll go ahead and get this out of the way first thing, yes its like Oblivion with guns, but just like oblivion, Fallout 3 has it's own unique points.
To start, Fallout 3 has one of the most immersive tutorials I've ever played, seeing as how you go through every major point of life till adulthood. I found this to be very interesting, though it is nullified when you get to the vault door, but even then I was happy since I had accidentally named my character "Player Name".
Fallout 3's plot is decent in my opinion since there isn't much to it except find Dad, Find GECK, Fix project purity, Fin.
What makes up for the plot is the Ton of side quest there are and the oddball characters you find.

The side quests in this game are pretty varied as they range from Super-long to Super-Short, and have unique tasks and approaches to each. There are options for each that cater to the Rambo type character, or someone who's a silver-tounged devil.
Now onto characters, In my opinion I found each main character to be a little interesting, as they may provide their backstory, or have interesting dialogue choices. Unfortunately , minor characters have very little story, so you never really begin to care or hate them, I can see why they did this though since it would take forever to make each character have their own backstory.

Now for the combat. Fallout 3 plays like a normal FPS, and mixes in the normal hack and slash melee and punches. What makes Fallout 3 unique is V.A.T.S. VATS is a system the makes it where you basically pause combat, choose a body part to shoot at, and hit or miss depending on the percent shown next to each limb up to 95%. The only bad thing about VATS is it can screw up the difficulty if you use it to much as it takes away from the whole aiming aspect of a FPS.
Now Im not saying VATS is overused, seeing as how you have a limited number of Action Points, I'm just saying maybe there should be less.
Now, graphics-wise Fallout 3 is gorgeous. The only problem is that there are no vibrant colors. I can understand this because of the whole "Nuclear Armageddon" thing, but you think 200 years after the bombs, everything wouldn't have a greenish tint.

The two last things i'll touch on briefly are the soundtrack and DLC. The soundtrack is one of the best thing about the game.(Because who doesn't like blowing a mutants head of to "Lets Go Sunning")
The one drawback to this soundtrack is you will hear every song, A LOT. There are only 20 songs on the main radio station, but you will find most songs catchy enough to be bearable.
DLC-wise Fallout 3 has four DLC's out now that add altogether about 17 hours of new missions, weapons, and locales. Just a recommendation as to how to buy your DLC, Do it in the order of Broken Steel, Point Lookout, The Pitt, and Operation:Anchorage

There is one major setback that keeps this game from not-being perfect, and thats the end. The end is like a game over at a arcade, except instead of "Insert 25 cents" its "Insert 10$ for a game you already spent 60$ on." This felt like a slap in the face to me, since Bethesda is basically saying they want to to pay 10$ extra for the full game and a raised level cap.
The level cap is something I forgot to touch on, but its basically the one thing keeping you from becoming a godlike character.
Other than that I would highly recommend Fallout 3 to people who like slower-paced FPS's or who like new-age RPG's.
My rating 8/10

Almost forgot the karma system, basically its if you do bad things you get bad Karma and Faction A after you, and if you do good things you get good karma and Faction B after you.If your neutral, no one care bout you. Also, each karma provides a unique partner to get.

You need to work on ordering your thoughts just a smidgen better and maybe should talk about weapons and enemies you encounter.
