So, after almost having my arm broken by a friend, I picked up a really cheap copy of Fallout 3 for the PC, already owning it on the 360. I loved the game on the 360, but apparently the mods make it even better on the PC.

So, this is my question: Which mods should I get?

Go to this site and check out their top 100.

Personally, I'd suggest the killable children mod, The Haven quest/faction mod, and some texture mods to start off.

This [http://www.gamesradar.com/f/top-10-fallout-3-mods/a-20090701935142017] might also help you. It's got some of the essentials. good ol' Gamesradar.

But like NeonBob said, Fallout 3 Nexus is basically the motherlode.

Simple suggestion: download/create mods that fix what bothered you.

Then search on Fallout 3 nexus [http://www.fallout3nexus.com/] for any armour/house/weapon mod that you might enjoy.

Since you already played through the vanilla game, you should already know what ticked you off, be it the leveling rate, the level caps, or whatever.

The very first mods you should install are gameplay tweaks.
Then texture and model replacements.
Then extras.

I can't tell you what to get, really. It's much better for you to just browse the Fallout 3 Nexus and pick out what you want. I insist--you'll have a good time.

Here' a few I use (they all came from fallout 3 nexus):

MARCO realtime stimpacks - prevents you from just pausing and using as many stimpacks as you want, now you have to use them in real time and there are side effects, makes healing much more tactical.

Amplified Crippled Effects - makes crippling various body parts more debilitating, so it now has very noticable effects on both you and enemies, making crippling enemies much more useful.

Deadly radiation - ups the power of radiation, because otherwise radiation doesn't really have much effect.

DK bullet time - Gives you a key to trigger bullet time that uses VATS energy - nice.

Accurate Assault Rifles - ups the awful accuracy of the assault rifles into something that's now actually worth using at medium ranges.

Better Frag Grenade Physics - stops the frag grenades from bouncing like bloody tennis balls and makes them behave more like a real grenade, makes grenades more useful.
