Fallout 4 speculations

Playing Skyrim has made me excited for what they'll do in the next Fallout, since I've always been a bigger fan of Fallout over Elder Scrolls.
I'd really like to see Fallout 4 set in some type of ruined urban city region like Detroit or Chicago. I've seen people that think Fallout 4 should be set outside of the US But I don't think Fallout (at least the main series) would work well outside of the US. Since most of Fallout's iconography is based on Retro-Futuristic Americana.
For my money I'd set it in Detroit they could do tons of interesting things involving everything from Auto Plaints, Casinos, Gang Warfare. Plus I think I read somewhere that there is a Vault-Tech Vault in that area. the Only problem I could see with setting a game like Bethesda's Fallout games in a large city would be the load times.

I wanted to see what the Escapist thinks/wants for the next Fallout.

P.S. Actually I'm from Michigan and come to think of it downtown Detroit already kinda looks like a Fallout game just with less hope.

and less radioactive waste I would imagine..

Fallout already has been set in urban environment, and seeing as how these games also having exploring a major part of them I dense urban area would get boring fast..I personally also dislike feeling cramped in games so a constant dungeon/subway thing would just piss me off.

i personally think that as fallout as the townships becoming more advanced( granted it was because NV was protected by House) I would forsee something set in the sunshine states. plus fighting off radioactivly enhanced alligators would be amazing

Fallout is a bit of an oddity for me because I usually prefer fantasy over sci fi but with TES and Fallout it's the other way around.

There has been tons of threads with this exact topic btw.

If they do decide to make a new Fallout game I'm looking forward to it on the Skyrim engine.

I'm thinking they'll use New York next. It's the most obvious choice.
