Hmm... I would be more interested in this..
except..
1. the feeling of loneliness will inevitably be destroyed by the chat box being filled up with duel and party join requests.
This. The power of Fallout is being alone. Imagine Fallout 3 with 50 other people running in fighting with you....no....I will happily try this game, but expect it to be not quite right.
They could make it so that server sizes are kept small and that outside of instances you're alone, but when you get into instances or whatever then a few more people show up. Maybe make it so that clans are only the size of small squads or fire teams so that combat is squad-based rather than army-based.

It is kind of hard to be too much of a canon-stickler when the IP in question is Fallout, since the beloved originals were themselves prone to pop-culture jokes and breaking the 4th wall at times-
Yeah but don't tell any of the fans of the first two games that or they'll openly deny it and consistently claim that Bethesda did everything wrong and Fallout was SUPER SERIAL about its canon before then.

Oooh, maybe this is what the Mayan calendar (or whoever it was) keeps getting misquoted as! The end of A world in 2012, just not a real one?

Damn, I'd love a Fallout MMORPG

If not for the fact that Interplay also announced sequels to Descent, MDK, Earthworm Jim, and fucking Clayfighter then I could probably take this seriously.

I see a huge chance for epic win in this project but I'm willing to bet this is going to turn into the Fallout version of Duke Nuken Forever.
Glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks this.

OT. It would be nice, that's for sure.

Uhhh, I'm pretty sure a Fallout MMO would be redundant what with Fallen Earth already on top of the post-apocalypse MMO market and all.

But the world is going to end in 2012, why must they tease us so?

Though it would be kind of fitting.

Now that's an MMO I would play. Unless there's a subscription fee. Which there probably will be.

2. They haven't given any info on subscription fees. I wish more MMOs would take on the Guild Wars model.
You mean the "Makes you really bitterly wish you hadn't just wasted money on this shite" approach?
Wow. So, unless you're forced to pay monthly and devote massive amounts of personal time the game is "shite"?

I'm fairly sure he thinks the game is "shite" just because he thinks it's "shite". Try to keep up.

I hope I latch onto it more than I have other MMO's in the past. Which is not at all.

And I hope they respect the canon.

THE CANON MUST BE RESPECTED!!
Hail the Fallout bible!

I really hope Interplay wins the rights to the franchise. I don't want to see Bethesda ruin yet another outstanding IP. And if Interplay doesn't win, I'll still flock to their MMO regardless of what they're calling it. (While boycotting Beth's attempt.)

This will fail, horribly. The entire overtone of the elder scrolls was that you and you alone were the chosen hero of the land, this is a difficult premise to maintain when you have a few thousand "Chosen Hero" it turns into less of an Epic MMO and more of a day at the job center.

As for a fallout MMO... for Gods sake let fallout rest in peace. We've already proven this generation cannot create a true and decent sequel to the original games, and even if they did, people who played the originals would refute it. Dont get me wrong I like FO3 as a Game, if they called it Generic Post-Apocalyptic RPG, it would have been brilliant, but it wasnt fallout, and somehow the Ron Pearlman Narration "War... War never changes... untill patch day" just wont feel as awesome.

ha, I see what they did there. release a game about the end of the world in 2012?

if the nuts are to be believed, God might release a free (compulsory) MM 'game' similar to this at the same time...

Thank you, I was coming back to say exactly that. Always nice to find SOMEONE on this website has brains.
