I'm considering picking this game up, on PC of course. I just want to know what the game feels like. Is it a classy, Las Vegas style game, or is it more of a dusty wasteland? Sorry if this sounds a little stupid to you.

I guess I should say, does it feel like a Casino atmosphere, or is it a grim dusty wasteland that happens to be near Vegas?

its a dusty wasteland, but you do go to Vegas and i'm not sure about the gambling, but you can fuck/exodus hookers!

It's got less grimdark that Fallout 3 I'd say. While it's still dark, it's less crushingly depressing than 3 is. There is definitely a casino atmosphere going on, with a bit of wild west stuff mixed in too. Doesn't feel as post-apocalyptic as 3 did, but I'd argue that that's just part of the setting, not the idea which the game revolves around.

Bit of both to be fair.

You have the majority of the game in a vast wasteland but Vegas is sat near the middle that has that casino atmosphere.

If you want a better casino type feel in your F:NV though i'd recommend hopping over to TheNexus and downloading the Steve Bison Hotel mod.

You get to rebuild it and have joint ownership of your own casino.

There are mods that let you run some of the casino's on the strip but one that lets you run the Lucky 38 can cause issues.

You can also get lots of housing mods and quest mods that add other building/towns to your game to give it more of a "lived in" feel.

And repopulated wasteland. Adds a hell of a lot of NPC's in towns and around.

Just check out New Vegas mods, you'll find something you like.

When i played New Vegas on Xbox360 the entire strip just felt underpopulated and my computer isn't powerful enough to run New Vegas at all. I think the game feels more wasteland-e seeing as how there are only 3 places with any casino vibe though each place is very important quest wise it just didn't feel right. I usually spend my high level well equipped pre final mission time hunting for things i may have missed and killing deathclaws with pistols for fun.
