Im gonna put this as bluntly as possible

A friend is offering me Fallout new vegas for the pc

he has already used it

He claims i can just put the disc in and install it.

The last time i bought a second hand pc game, it required steam and the previous owner had already used the authentication code, rendering it useless to me.

I trust my friend but i dont want to go through all the hastle of getting a refund again.

Has anyone here got fallout new vegas for the pc (and didnt buy it off steam) who can confirm this for me?

Thank you for any responses, i tried googling this already and i couldnt find anything useful.

I also apologise for the vast amount of spelling and grammar mistakes i have made in typing this!

Yeah the code can only be used once. Unless its an exception, my copy of Witcher 2 allows it to be on 2 PCs instead of 1. Ask him if its a double code, I'll just ignore it if I was you.

It uses steam.

Of course he is your friend, so you might as well ask him to let you install the game before you pay him.

If he says no to that it means he was trying to rip you off.

edit: lol, the last thread about second hand PC games was also you. Man, you and your friends are really bad at this whole PC gaming thing.

Used PC games don't really work nowadays ever.
There are good sides and bad sides to the PC and console version of this game.

PC:
The Good: If you like mice/keyboards, you can use them. You can somewhat compensate for the many many many bugs via console commands. Mods.
The Bad: You have to use Steam, no; the dirt will never come off of your soul. It's a less stable/reliable version. It's a little buggier. Your computer might not meet the specs.

Console:
The Good: If you like controllers, you can use one. Everything is handled through XBox live so you don't need to worry about problems there. More stable. System is guaranteed to run it.
The bad: Lack of the good stuff for PC version.
