Hello!

I've been playing alot of New Vegas and have yet to find a decent scaving house or bunker or well anything especially compared to the D.C. Ruins of Fallout 3.

Anyone know of any Decent locations to go?

Things are spread out pretty well.

I'd say the Vault 34 Armory is (as you have pointed out) got the most cap worthy swag so far.

On a related note, The All-American kicks ass.

I got some nice stuff Sneaking around the strip stealing stuff.

What?

Karma doesn't matter this time. Only reputation. And I didn't get caught.

I found this one shack that had a repair bench, one of those ammo benches, and a bunk bed. I found it coming from Primm Pass going to that one place with the dinosaur. Right after you pass through (and hopefully if there isn't a deathclaw) you'll land nearly on top of it.

I got a fairly good haul just running jobs in freeside. Must have earned around 3000 caps just by keeping everyone happy and generally trying to improve the quality of life there.

Scaving? What is that?

I found vault 22 entertaining. Theres some prototype weapon at the end of it.

Stealth Boy around the Silver Rush. The recharging laser pistol and rifle make it all worth it (it's great to save the ammo on small-time kills).

Don't bother with it. It's easier to kill the ants, use the solar panels from Helios to repair the array, and then find that guy his redheaded love. Then go SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER. Gets them to idolise you in no time.

Unlike Bethesda games, this one actually rewards exploration. Pretty much every "area" has something of interest, so explore and be awed.

A couple locations of special interest off the top of my head:
* REPCONN Headquarters is quite a haul for a peaceful location (3 skill books, 2 power armors, and a partridge in a pear tree unique plasma gun). It's straight south of the Strip and just north of a mountain range. This location also triggers a conversation with Arcade if you have him in your party.
* There's a stalker cave east-north-east of Freeside with some weapons, several thousand caps and a load of assorted faction money; To find it, go NE of Freeside until you reach the mountains and follow the mountain range east along it's southern edge, past a locked railway gate with a couple deathclaws around. I believe there were red/brown rocks and night stalkers near the entrance.

Try the Gibson Scrapyard, she usually sells one. If she doesn't have one, the general store in Goodsprings almost always has one in stock.

If you want to make weapon repair kits, Nellis Air Force Base has a good supply of wrenches, if you don't mind stealing.

But as you've already said, Vault 34 is the best place for loot that I've found so far.

For special weapons, I've found just wandering the wastes gets me to random places with crazy guns, like finding the Crashed Vertibird.

As for money, after I figured out how to play Caravan, I haven't needed any. The chick at the Southern NCR outpost gives me a few thousand caps every couple of days when I play her. She's awful at the game, and bids high.
