Fallout New Vegas:"you'll know it when it happens" Broken? (SPOILERS)

wow thank god for the internet

Ok so I decided to go independant, as In I am working with yes man

so aparently Ive pissed off the NCR in doing so , so it says "they will no longer accept my help" Im wondering if that has anything to do with it

anyway Yes man tells me that Its in everyones best interest that I help protect the president, and I am to talk to a certain ranger at hoover dam

except when I talk to this guy all he says is somthign like "we have alot to do before the presidents visit" then my only dialoge option is goodbye (then when he says goodbye his voice goes like it over a radio, kinda creepy)

Im guess it has somthing to do with me not going with the NCR however it was yes man who told me to protect the president so Im unsure

again avoiding spoilers would be much apreciated

Best way to get the independent is to not piss off anyone. Except maybe the Legion, Powder Gangers and Fiends. Try helping the NCR again to get better rep. They will only let you help if you're in their good graces from what I know (I was friendly with everyone from the start so I don't know for sure)

I was and still am technically Idolised by them

anyway I think its one of the major desicions (for starting at the point where I uploaded yes man), once you make it you cant really go back

..huh. Never had that problem.
How far are you in that quest? Is it the first time you speak to him?

If you have an older save, try loading that. Bugged saves are mean. Avoid autosave like the plague.

Did a bit of research on it. Even if the player are already 'Idolized' with the NCR, you will lose the quest You'll Know It When It Happens if you go to the El Dorado substation first. That's probably it.

Frankly the only thing that is annoying me now is that im a good natured raschel and they wont gimmie the danm safehouse key!

If one of the factions hates you and you have a quest with them, just wear a faction disguise.

This happens when you are given the quest by Yes Man to save the president but your rep with NCR is too low to carry it out.

If you speak to Yes Man again there should be an option to let him know that NCR hate you, he will skip on to the next quest in the line and the president will die.

If you really want to save him then you could try wearing a faction disguise (NCR armour) but scouts (rangers) will see through it so you'll need to be careful

Wouldn't it cancel the 'when it happens' quest and prompt him to return to Yesman?
Sounds like something isn't working right; not too surprising of course with this game. Never played a bigger mess.
