Fallout: new vegas

The newest trailer(found advertised here on the escapist) shows pretty much fallout 3 but with better weapon and character customisation. PLEASE someone tell me that they're not all the new features they're putting in and please tell me they've increased the graphics (seriously the graphics in the trailer were terrible, apart from the eyebot.) and made combat less stiff. Anyone know of any new features that are worth a mention?

yes your follower has a really good menu for how you want him to fight and its quick and very easy. cannot wait for this game!

You can now give orders to companions. like good orders not just "stand here and die" or "get infront of my missle" i hear its a lot like mass effect

That is true, I mean sure it has the basics of Fallout 3, but then again its a new setting, new characters and of course the Hardcore Mode sounds awesome.

Well since it's being made by Obsidian you can bet that it will have a ton of bugs and be incomplete when it ships(and this is coming from someone who likes most their games). Other then that probably just more of the same from Fallout 3.

It's like an expansion pack. Meh.
The DLCs for Fallout 3 all sucked, even though I really liked the main game. Especially with mods.
But Obsidian sure love their stories, so maybe this time around we get something with umm... a little depth and character.

I'm just happy for the fact they're removing 'essential' characters, making it so it has 3 main questlines (all unique), and the complete overhaul of the conversation system, the weapon system, and the companion system.

And I'll just ignore the amount of ignorance this thread will accrue ^^

what is hardcore mode?

Stimpaks heal over time.
Ammo has weight.
The PC must drink, eat, and have proper sleep cycles to stay alive.
Only a doctor or a doctor's bag can heal a crippled limb

stimpacks and ammo have weight, you have a thirst meter, proly more but that's all I can remember off the top of my head.

fallout new Vegas just seems like fallout 3 with a bunch of mods that are out for the pc version... i mean literally every thing you see in Vegas that's improved is a mod made for fallout 3 on pc... even the weighted ammo.

not a bad thing t obe sure but it seems like they just ripped off the modding community by copy pasting the modded fallout 3 into a new setting without crediting the modders or something.
