fallout new vegas

so i love fallout i think its great but ive only played 3 and new vegas.
before new vegas came out i heard a lot about how its not enough like the original games and this made it bad.
but apparently people that worked on the original games helped develop this.
so my question is ... is fallout new vegas enough like the originals and is this good or bad?

It's definitely more in the line with the first two games. And the amount of stuff to to is overwhelming just like in the second game (the one I've played till my disc got worn out. twice)

I have a feeling that I will discover new things in every playthrough for a good while.
