I'm thinking of buying New Vegas as my christmas present, however money's pretty tight so this will be the only game I can afford until about July.

I've heard that it's pretty buggy (thank you Yahtzee), though some people have said it's not that bad, I've also heard that it's being patched pretty quickly but that doesn't really help me since apparently I'm the only person in the world who's xbox isn't connected to the internet.

Fallout 3 is in my top ten favourite games though, so I don't know. Plus if Fallout 3 is anything to go by then if any game can keep me occupied 'til July then this will be it.

What do you, the public, think? Worth it or not?

Apparently the majority of the major bugs are only on the PC version.

Although New Vegas seems almost identical to Fallout 3, though this may not be a bad thing if you really really like it.

It seems much more stable with recent patches, but it was a bit of a nightmare to run initially (I was on the PC version) and some of the quests could go downright weird unless you manually fixed them with the console.

It is good fun, but if you've exhausted Fallout 3 you might find it a little samey outside of the quests themselves. It is basically the same game with more features and a slightly different setting.

It is worth it, and as far as I'm aware there's no gamestopping bugs which can't be avoided by saving regularly in different slots. But you'd be far better off trying to find a platform with an internet connection and getting all the latest patches.

If you liked the old West Coast Fallout setting definitely get it, because it's full of lovely references and nostalgia can compensate for an awful lot.

I definately recommend it as a time consumer. If you are like me and enjoy exploring everything on the map as well as all of the possibilities in the quests you should love it. It however does freeze more than I would ever think it would have (ps3 version) but I just save super often to alleviate that. I would say also that it is definately more densely populated than fallout 3 so im still exploring every nook and cranny after about a month now. So give it a whirl.

I have the PC version and it has never crashed, freezed or shown any bugs...

If you liked Fallout 3, you will like New Vegas and it should occupy your time for some time. In regards to the no internet, that's going to suck if they bring out any add-ons but it should still be fun.

I have the PC version, and I only experienced crashing a few times before I managed to fix it myself with a patch from Silent Hill: Homecoming.

PC is better because it's usually cheaper and you can run mods with it. I have a crappy computer and I could run it easily as well.

It's an incredible game, like Fallout 3 only better in most respects, with quite a few new features. I have the unpatched Xbox version, and I've encountered some bugs, but few major ones considering the amount of time played. As long as you save often, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I definitely recommend it.

The majority of all the bugs have been fixed and i think if you like fallout at all you will enjoy this game very much.

the majority of the bugs were equal on PC and console.

Hmmm....

I bought my bro NV for Christmas at about £17.99 (Including P+P.)

That's cheap for a game like that! Normally it's about £40.00 in England.

I only encountered a couple minor glitches and one major glitch which was solved by loading a different save file then reloading the glitched one.

Just like Yahtzee said, everything that he possibly could have said about Fallout New Vegas he already said in his Fallout 3 review.

So, if you really like Fallout 3, get F:NV. I did, on XBox. Even before the patch, it didn't have very many bugs that I noticed (besides the giant ants of course, nyuk nyuk) and it was a load of fun. Highly recommended.
