Now wait a second guys, the idea here is that they're honoring their son, but the only time Storm Troopers would have escorted a Jedi is during the Clone Wars, right?
Those were Clone Troopers, bro. Storm Troopers wouldn't be caught dead escorting a Jedi.

OT: Rest in peace, young Master.

I could make a reference gag (something to do with the Force) but I can't, it is too tragic.

Also I still await the day a Warhammer 40K fan has a dreadnought shaped coffin.
Yes, I want my half-decayed corpse to be torn out of a metal box with a cockney covered in green paint and armed with a large cleaver. Only in Death does Duty End.

So they make something their son would love it...after he can't see it anymore, makes sense...
Oh well, if it makes the parents less depressed it's still worth it.
To be fair, a funeral is about paying respects to the deceased, so in his eyes, it would've been and is quite appropriate. The parents might also believe in something after death like heaven, so you know... besides, plenty of people have had weirder last wishes about their funerals than giving a 4 year old a Star Wars themed funeral.

It's terrible to see a coffin that small or to see parents outlive their child, but to see them banding together to make that kid as happy as they could...that's something pretty heartwarming right there. Actually brings to mind the old Star Wars crew. Rest in peace, little Jedi, and remember...

This is both very sad, and very awesome.

To be honest I can only think a Warhammer 40k funeral could top this is awesomeness.

What a way for the kid to spend his last week alive.

I can

I wonder if they could still afford to have a force ghost hologram of the kid holding his belt next to yoda or something.

Actually thats not a joke but it would have been a nice touch. Also how can you write Jedi on a coffin? aren't they supposed to be burned so they can go back to the force?

Man what a story...

On one hand *sigh* no parent should ever have to bury their child... especially at that young of an age....

Glad to see that his parents honor him with such a touching funeral...

R.I.P. Jack and to the parents, my sincere condolences

*sniff* Oh crap is someone chopping up onions near me... ah screw it *sniff*

This kinda reminds me of the Ribbitribbit saga in Everquest 2, the kid of similar age, had a similar terminal desease and he absolutely loved EQ2, he had a froglok avatar [https://www.everquest2.com/images/en/features/2013/03/ribbitribbit/ribbitribbit1.jpg] and his parents asked the community to help them make something truly special for him and boy they did, they built him an entire theme park* just for him and he absolutely loved it, he passed away a few weeks later, but he's still remembered, as he has his very own day in the game, to celebrate the awesomeness of the community and of course, the kid himself.

[small]*Inside the game itself of course.[/small]

EDIT: I already cried a few years ago for that kid and thinking about it again and this story too... just brings me tears again, just the thought of burying my own child if I ever have one someday, just... *sniff* Excuse me...
