I think I have gone into way too much detail.

That may well be but it was still a very good post, always worth having a defence of religion in threads like this that focus on the kind of Christians the rest of us would rather ignore. Oh also you don't get it in the UK because we have laws against hate speech, Americans are very defensive of the right to say anything they want without consequence.

Here's a novel idea parents: BE PARENTS! When MY parents didn't want me to have something for whatever reason, they just told me I couldn't have it. They didn't campaign like freaks to get that thing banned so that nobody could have it!
