ive been invited to a party, what should i wear? i was thinking the joker, but in order to get it right i'd have to spend so much money it wouldn't be worth it.
so, my fellow escapists, what advice can you give me?

You should go in masquerade! That's always fun, you could make a replica of one of the masques in Bioshock for bonus gamer points.

If you mean specific characters then why not shave your head, paint your skin blue and go as Doctor Manhatten?
Or, get a red sheet, cut eye holes and go as Blinky from pac-man!

Can always take the lazy and/or cheap route and wear your own clothes. When people ask you what you are you can say A) a serial killer, they look like everybody else. or B) a slacker

Look for something that will catch people's attention, unfortunately, unless you're the zombie of Heath Ledger, I doubt being dressed as the Joker will enrich people's imagination. I've always had this idea of buying a fake beard and then going as a famous intellectual like Darwin or Frued. I wanted to go as Zimbardo at first, but his goatee just makes him look like Satan; too easy.

Nah man everybody does the joker for dressing up. You should try to be something more unique. Like a physical manifestation of social unrest, pseudo-anarchy and distrust of authority... or Alex from A Clockwork Orange as he's commonly known.

The Joker would be great if you could pull it off right. But how do you look, that is a major factor.
i'm 6ft 3, kinda scary looking and have the curlyish hair that's about the right length. with the right make up i could be pretty imposing, therein lies the problem though; i'm not a makeup artist. also the clothes are really expensive

That would be ace!

It would be really easy to do as well, white overalls, braces, black combat boots and a bowler hat. Sorted!

*steals idea for when I go to a fancy dress*

If hes got any mates going with him, they could go as the droogs :D

I've only seen it once when somebody has done that and they appeared to be a droog short unfortunately.

You need the eye make-up and cane too.

My last costume was Death. If you're really 6ft 3 then Death would be a good one for you too as you'd look quite imposing.

Oh thats mean :p

If you have long hair go as Brandon Lee's Crow.
Its simple. Black boots, black pants and a long sleeve black shirt. Wrap electric tape around your arms and torso and finally the classic Crow facepaint
