Well, I've been a writer of fanfiction since 2004 or so I believe, and I've ended up canceling all my projects since I looked at them years later and decided I was not satisfied with it-as I'm quite self-conscious of my works-and well at my third-fourth attempt at writing fanfiction, I fear that the fandom of my current project may be dying out, that and the readers on the site might only be reading works by people they're friends with.

My main problem is that I feel I can't find a good place that has enough active writers/readers to share my works with. Fanfiction.net is the main source of my problem and live journal just confuses me.

I don't know if this is even the place to ask for this favor or say any of this stuff, but is there anyone here who might be able to help me? Furthermore, are there any fanfiction writers that might be going through the same thing?

I'm not sure about places and people, but you might want to pick up the best-selling fanfic ever published (link to amazon sales- http://www.amazon.co.uk/Holy-Bible-Hendrickson-Publishers/dp/1565633253/ref=pd_cp_b_1?pf_rd_p=212521391&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=0840700555&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=0RHJQ7RTDW8FW9T4RWJ9 [click here])

I hope this is the right place, because I'd like some fingers pointed in the right direction too.

fanfiction.net never really did anything for me

I have, was a short story (was meant to be a section of a longer one but didn't finish it), a distinct lack of feedback from anyone and all the, um, "fantasy hookup" stories put me off slightly.

I'm about to undertake another project with a bit more vigor, but I lack writing talent especially compared with some others, so sections need to be proof read and feedback made almost weekly, my friend does his best, but another few sets of eyes on my writing and use of characters would be most useful.

Best place? Probably TVTropes [http://www.tvtropes.org].

A large amount of the user base write/read fanfic of all varieties (trust me, I mean ALL). Pop by the forums or IRC and ask for advice/critique, and they'd probably be glad to help.

On top of that, the site itself contains a tonne of information, including Fanfic Recs [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/FanFicRecommendations].

That would be cool, I could read yours if you're still going and, if you didn't mind, I could forward it to my friend too. 2 extra pairs of eyes.
