Honestly I think just having Cortana could work if they make Master Chief a little more vocal during gameplay. Having it focus on the interaction and relationship between those two characters has the potential to tell a pretty interesting character story.CardinalPiggles said:If it's as good as Reach, then I'll buy it straight away.
My only concern is their won't be any good characters besides Cortana. That was the thing I loved about Reach's campaign, plenty of interesting characters, mixed with a bit of loneliness at times.
I thought the ODST's were just a load of roughneck thrill seekers, that's the impression I got from The fall of Reach(?) novel anyway.Amnestic said:[sub]Also we need an ODST sequel. Make it its own series of squad-based shooters. ODSTs are way more interesting a concept than SPARTANs.[/sub]
The game...really doesn't portray them like that. I'd compare them to the Delta Squad [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_squad] team in Republic Commando, except voiced by half of the cast of Firefly (Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Adam Baldwin). They've all got their own characters to them and the fact that they're not supposed to be one person armies like SPARTANs (even SPARTAN IIs like Noble Six) means there's generally more options open for squad banter so making an ODST Squad-based shooter title makes sense.CardinalPiggles said:I thought the ODST's were just a load of roughneck thrill seekers, that's the impression I got from The fall of Reach(?) novel anyway.Amnestic said:[sub]Also we need an ODST sequel. Same here. The box art looks quite good... different to a lot of modern shooter's box arts recently, and its good that it shows off the sci fi aspect. Reach's box art could have just been for any modern fps.Terminate421 said:This is why my hope for Halo 4 just went up, little things are what make Halo special
Don't get me wrong I think it sounds like a great idea, but I would have thought they would turn out more like the roughneck squad from Starship Troopers than the Bad Company from the BF series (which I thought were great).Amnestic said:The game...really doesn't portray them like that. From what I read in Game Informer about the relationship between the Chief and Cortana as she decends into rampancy, if done right it could be a really moving story and flesh out the Chief as a more three dimensional character. I think Halo 4 has a lot of potentialAmnestic said:Honestly I think just having Cortana could work if they make Master Chief a little more vocal during gameplay. Having a few extras would be nice though.
