Thank you for taking time to read my Far Cry 2 overview.

I pre ordered this game about 3 months ago, I was expecting a detailed, exciting and immersive game. I was not let down.

To begin, you are a mercenary for hire in Africa this time around. The vast savannah is filled with dangerous enemies, and also dangerous terrain! Fire becomes your worst enemy let me tell you! On that note, the fire effects are completely amazing, it spreads realistically and can be used to set up elaborate traps for your mad african foes.

Your main objective is to find and eliminate the Jackal. Who is an arms dealer who supplies both sides of the war! (cough cough G.W Bush xD). To achieve this, you need to earn respect, gain valuable friends, some bloody impressive weaponry and traverse about 500 square kilometres.

I shit you not boys and girls, there is a lot of ground to cover. But how you want to go about it is completely up to you. What friends you want to keep/kill is entirely your call, its almost a GTA based sandbox mission system but I tend not to label games that, but it certainly is open ended.

The weapons are realistic in the sense that the ones guards have are rusty and will explode in your hands after repetitive use, thankfully there is an armory, and you unlock NEW weapons by doing certain missions :). Also the damage system is very immersive, when you are shot enough, you HAVE to pull out the bullets from your body while taking cover. Its a moot point I know, but it is worth mentioning.

To wrap up,

Story: 7/10 - I give the story this score as It didn't really immerse me, I felt like I was playing the game for the missions rather than the actual "story" per-se.

Graphics: 9/10- Pretty bloody amazing, well rendered landscapes, flames are amazing, and the lighting is top notch. Also worth mentioning the dynamic weather system. The dunia engine works well here.

Gameplay: 8.5/10- Great fun, enjoyed the missions and being able to complete the mission in various ways, my only qualm is Africa is in dire need of some more bus stations! :D

Overall about an 8.5 :)

Worth the money but the travel system and the story lets it down.

Any constructive criticism is gladly recieved, my grammar is terrible I know, hense why this is a overview, not an actual review, I fear I would be crucified by all the superior educated escapists! :)

Dodging grammar edits by posting an overview is somewhat counter-intuitive to growth as a writer. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there, the worst we can do in return is make fun of you, and most of us wouldn't.

In short, your review is simple. In length, your review is simple, sparse, and slightly uninteresting. No offense, but this review is somewhat pedestrian. To quote Yahtzee, "takes no risks, and pushes no envelopes." You touch on the guns, lightly, you comment on how pretty the game is, and traveling is slow.

Although, the travel critique is something of a double-edged sword, because you praise the massive area to travel, while cursing the massive area you have to travel. To enhance realism, they can't cut it away. If they did, all of your realism praise would simply be hot air.

As far as grammar, mostly pay attention to commas. You miss commas often times, which is surprising. Especially when you realize how hardcore you flood a sentence with them on occasion. Sometimes, sentence breaks are better. Don't be afraid of periods.

The short answer is to say, "It's not bad, but the shortness sort of shoots you in the foot. We crave more depth!" The long answer is to say, "A few nits to pick, but it's mostly good. Just give us some more length, more depth, more analysis, and more content."

Hope that's what kind of criticism you were looking for. Hoping to see you review something in full next time.

Thank you sir. Will keep that in mind. Will make a more concise, edited review in future.

Much appreciated.
