That was one poor review, allow me to review your review of "far cry 2" for you!

His review of Far Cry 2 felt more like a list of weapons and there faults, whereas there was very little mention to various elements of gameplay. He lists guns and their faults for the first area of the review, and strangely, he thinks that there are only SMG's, shotguns and sniper rifles. At no point during this poor list does he actually give reasons why he feels so strongly about his hatred of SMG's, despite the fact there are some that can have decent range, whereas some will be slow and innacurate.
There was no mention of actual game play at all during this review. OK, that was contradictorary on purpose! I will explain why later. The very small game play review tells us aparently how crap the cars are. From my personal experiance of the game taught me that as well as bullets slow me down, so do the many bumps in the road, something the locals will probabaly have learned to catch you faster. On numerous occasions, after being caught at an outpost, I personally found it relativly easy to outrun the chasers. The gun rusting stuff is added for that extra hint of realism, just to prove your not Billy bullet whore running around with infinite ammo. The gun wearing out is also what actually gives you a reason for using those diamonds you find lying around.
For the whole multiplayer aspect of this review, 4 words and a letter really just doesn't cut it for me! In what way was it a joke? Was there mass lag? Did you spend 2 weeks waiting for a game? Did your simplistic capabilities of reviewing leak into your map building skills? While I will be the first to say that the "far cry 2" online play may not be the best out there, it is still just as fun as other game based in a african area where you can burn down the terrain to trap your enemies... Oh Wait... Is this what happend to you?
Throughout his "review", there was no mention of the worlds easiest map editor. Granted there's not alot you can say about it, you could have at least mentioned it and how just tapping LB will bring up all the options you could ever require for anything from terrain to objects.
Now... gamers, ask yourselves, does a story tilt your review of a game. To me, in my opinion, I found it extremely weak. You VS a arms dealer isn't the most origonal plot in a game, and it is only made more dissapointing with the fact that this contraversial war torn area was host to a truely standard stock plot. As you can tell, I had to add the story element to his "review" as he made no reference to it AT ALL!.
The element of graphics in his review seems to be the only thing he actually likes about the game, rather than the gameplay itself. The rain effects are very good, and the mist is there to give you the sense that there is a storm, not a mild British "drizzle".
In a review, if you give something a low score, it means you don't ACTUALLY like the game and you couldn't say to anyone else it would be good. This is why I contradicted myself earlier, to grab your attention that he can't make up his mind. Before you review, always have a solid opinion and stick to it.
As I end this review, I have to add, no one actually cares about conspiracies, it's up for the gamer to think for his (or her)self. This could also be considered a spoiler, something which you did not take the time to mention to poor people who have yet to finish the game.
Overall, the "review" was ultimatly a let down compared to the standards of this forum. It really feels like a rushed year 7 school project that could probably just get a D-. I suppose we can't blame the new guy in the end, but we can leave him the message of learn from other reviews first!
