I want to focus on a huge dent found on a car to show, 'Far Cry 2' made by UbiSoft

Now, lemme just start off with my view on it, this has to the most fun first person shooters I have ever played in my life, yet I get mad at it.

Story: Your some guy in Africa who is sent to kill this guy named 'The Jackal', what like the Halo jackal? Anyway, the opening cut scene is more of a showcase and makes me wanna stab my eyes out until my iris' fry seeing how boring it is, until I notice that you get a bad case of malaria. He finds you and knows that you are there to kill him, leaving you unarmed on the bed. Now at this point I figured out that story line already shows much. 8.5/10

Game-play: The game play is fabulous, though a bit annoying, such as your weapons jamming/breaking which is a real pain in the ass seeing as it really can mean life or death, but it does touch up the realism and doesn't stop it from making it fun, the fact you have to buy your weapons also really makes it good yet the fact you have to use diamonds as currency, but the AI is just the cluster-fuck out of this game, it's AI might be good on higher levels, but it's still a jab in the ass seeing as even on easy the AI just kicks your ass until it falls off then use it as a volleyball. 6/10

Graphics: I have to shorten this down because there's not much too say, it's pretty, an engine, however the physics are the major laughing scenario seeing as body's get stuck in cars or the rocket's backfire when it malfunctions. 9/10

Overall: 7.5/10

The first bit of your gameplay section has bits of what might be considered a review in it. Aside from that, it's thoughtless and fraught with errors. Sure, there might not be that much to say, but there certainly must be more than two short paragraphs worth of material to discuss?

Don't just slap a few lines together in the text field, decide to call it a review, and hit post. Open a word document and put a little effort into it.

Also, welcome to The Escapist.

I didn't understand this opening at all to be honest. What's a car got to do with anything?

Now, lemme just start off with my view on it, this has to the most fun first person shooters I have ever played in my life, yet I get mad at it.
Not bad. You give an opinion on the game. If you could back this up with reasons why you like it, then lengthen it, you have a decent to good review.

This part sounds like you're trying to emulate Yahtzee. Here's a tip: don't. It never works and, more often than not, people will flame you for it. Also, tell us why you think it's boring. Having seen the intro, I actually found it very interesting. It introduced the setting of the game by showing us the game world and some of the various people we'd be running across in the rest of the game and had an explanation of the storyline.

He finds you and knows that you are there to kill him, leaving you unarmed on the bed. Now at this point I figured out that story line already shows much. 8.5/10
I can't say for sure, so correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds here as if you've only played the beginning of the game and you're reviewing it already. If I'm right, it might be a good idea to finish the game, or at least play the majority of it, before attempting a review.

I'm going to break this down into sections after this, but I'm pointing out that this is one long sentence that doesn't read particularly well. In future, if you write something, try reading it out loud to yourself or get someone to proof read it to see if it makes sense.

Game-play: The game play is fabulous, though a bit annoying, such as your weapons jamming/breaking which is a real pain in the ass seeing as it really can mean life or death, but it does touch up the realism and doesn't stop it from making it fun
This is a step in the right direction. Again, you've given your opinion, and you've backed it up with reasons. Good.

the fact you have to buy your weapons also really makes it good yet the fact you have to use diamonds as currency
What do you mean here? It sounds as though you like the fact that you buy weapons, but not that you use diamonds as currency. Why don't you like using diamonds? Does it affect gameplay, does it not fit with the storyline? Back this up.

but the AI is just the cluster-fuck out of this game, it's AI might be good on higher levels, but it's still a jab in the ass seeing as even on easy the AI just kicks your ass until it falls off then use it as a volleyball. 6/10
So, you're saying that the AI might make this difficult on higher difficulty levels (implying that it's easy on lower difficulty levels), but then you say that the AI continuously beats you on lower levels. This part doesn't make sense. What, exactly, makes the AI bad? Also, you said at the beginning of this section that the gameplay is fabulous, then gave it a score of 6/10. Please try to remain more consistent.

Graphics: I have to shorten this down because there's not much too say, it's pretty, an engine, however the physics are the major laughing scenario seeing as body's get stuck in cars or the rocket's backfire when it malfunctions. 9/10
Why don't you have more to say on the graphics? They're amazing. Seeing the sun set over the African plateau, animals calmly grazing on the plains etc. There's much more that could be mentioned here, especially considering you gave them a 9/10 score.

I'm not trying to be nasty, but this does need some work. I hope you take the advice under consideration, and your reviews improve in the future.

Seeing as car's have A LOT to do with the car, and it's a bit annoying, but it is a good game.

And I never noticed that I was emulating him in all honesty.

And I got to 82% complete within 5 days.

The reason it's boring is because though it does give a good story I was waiting to shoot up some guys, which kinda made me impatient, and yes I'm very impatient.

The diamond problem is finding them, sometimes there on the cliff, sometimes underground, sometimes there right there but you can't reach it like it's taunting you.

AI problem it's frustrating but good, but sometimes it's just down right hilarious as I shoot like 5 rounds into them and they don't even turn around to shoot back.

Yes it is fabulous in the beginning but it just get's consistent seeing as you run into enemy's every 30 seconds..

Yes the graphics are nice and I don't have much to say, the physics are good too but it's funny to see body's flail everywhere when they get stuck in a car.

Yeah, I wasn't really taking the time to do this, I was in a hurry.

EDIT: I would have added the map editor but I wanted to only focus on the single-player mode.
I really didn't try to emulate him, and if I somehow did, sorry then.

If you can't reach a briefcase use a car as a step up to it.

Well.. It's diamonds. They don't grow on trees, and that's why they're valuable.

Taking your time while doing a review is something which is appreciated. You can't rush through a couple of your own points and call it a review. I'm sorry, it's not that I'm being a prick, but you should've backed up your points more. And a spellcheck is also truly appreciated.

The review needs to be longer, in detail, consistant (gameplay 6/10...but you said it was amazing?) make sense and include good grammar / punctuation.

Your review is not up to scrath at the momment. Try reading other reviews in this section before you try another review.

Dent in the car is something that stands out in a crowd of smooth.

Plus the fact that vehicles are important to this game.

It's generally advisable to not rush a review. Take your time on your next one, let it develop and have a lot to say. Have what you're going to write in mind before you sit down to actually type it out. Use spellcheck, write cohesively, and don't waste people's time. Also, if people make comments about what they don't like, don't re-post with a contradiction of your original review. Make sure everything that you write is what you actually mean, and make sure the readers will understand it. Overall, the review was incomplete, didn't venture into depth, and you made the cardinal sin of "well there isn't much to say about..." I've said this before on other reviews, if you don't have anything to say, either find something or don't write it at all. In a review you don't have to just point out everything that's bad, you can say what's good as well. The Dunia engine renders a startlingly beautiful and real Africa, as well as one that features destructive environments, and awesome immersion; so, saying that you don't have anything to say about it is lazy.

Keep what's been said on this thread in mind when you write your next review, and it should be pretty good. Everything is meant to be constructive and will help you immensely.

P.S. Welcome to the Escapist, most everyone here is an editor in their own right, not just the mods, so watch what you say or else you'll be the target of the general community. Proper grammar and spelling is a must! :D

Also your game if it was real, would mostly focus on story if I'm right, I don't give a submarining f*** about, what I care about is game-play, game and play produce fun. If I wanted a story I would read a book, theres only like 5+ million in the world, this is a FPS that focus' on game play, no game play, no game at all.

EDIT: Thank you noting me on that captain awesome, but I had to get this out of my system.

To Chapper's diamond comment: Well, it would be better if it was just on the ground instead of cliffs.

Mate, my advice is take your time. Lurk a bit and read some reviews. Make your review long but concise. Add some pictures to break it up, add some humour, make it quirky. If you have trouble, ask anyone here, we are all more than welcome to help!

Welcome to the escapist, add yo'self an avatar and make yourself at home mate :)

HHHmmm...

Yeah, take more time. A good size for a review is 400 words, short but with enough detail to satisfy.

Also, try to be a little more formal. Perfect grammar is essential, or you get flamed by Nazis.

And welcome to the Escapist. It's safe here.
