Far Cry 3 Insane Edition Gets Crazy

The trailer for the Far Cry 3 Insane Edition is a beautiful sweetheart, but completely nuts.

It's no surprise that a special collector's edition of Far Cry 3 is in the works. What is a little surprising is the need for an age rating on the announcement video. I don't think I've ever seen a collector's edition reveal trailer quite like this one.

As awesome as it is, the video isn't entirely clear about what's on offer in the Far Cry 3 Insane Edition, so here's the full lowdown [http://far-cry.ubi.com/far-cry-3/en-GB/order-now/]. You get "Survival Kit" packaging, an island survival guide, nearly two hours of exclusive content including three single-player missions and the pièce de résistance, an "Insane Vaas Wahine," created by a "deranged mind who decapitated a beautiful wahine to put his own head on it."

I would absolutely pay extra for this, but the bad news [https://twitter.com/Ubisoft/statuses/205221296706039808] is that at this point, it's only slated for a European release. Ubisoft hasn't said anything about plans for a North American release [at least, not that I've noticed], but my fingers are crossed. I mean, look at her. Look how beautiful she looks.

What, you don't think she looks beautiful?

Far Cry 3 [http://www.amazon.com/Far-Cry-3-Playstation/dp/B0050SXX88/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1337789852&sr=8-1] comes out on September 4 in North America and September 6 in Europe for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

So how many different collectors' editions are there going to be? Do you need to buy several different editions to get everything?

I still remember Assassin's Creed...

That sounds like Cartman doing his Jennifer Lopez impersonation.

I like tacos, and I like burritos.

... Did I just get shot by a reveal trailer?

Anyway... Somehow I think I'll be giving this particular special edition a miss...

If this gets a North American release and comes in at under 100 bucks, I am in.

I am ashamed, but I am in.

Just a thought, why do they spend more money promoting the promotion than the atcual promotion? I mean, I would rather have a shitty "trailer" or annoucement of the contents and then have a really brillaint game edtion. I don't know, just thought that they would've given something better.

It's only 10? (around 15$) more then normal edition, if you pre order the normal edition now you get the DLC free too, hmmmm.... Need to do some thinking.

I...what? I mean seriously, what on earth did I just watch? When did special editions start getting their own (bizarre) release trailers anyway?

Nice to see that Europe actually gets something that the US doesn't (for now), makes a nice change from other pre-order bonuses we've no chance of getting/competitions we can never enter. Hurrah!

Hah, that guy is such an awesome character :D Here's thinking he'll be generating his fair share of memes once the game comes out...

Memes? Yes, most likely. Good character? Not so sure yet....

On topic: Mmm, a trailer made especially to promote a special edition seems a bit excessive. Particularly when the "special" edition doesn't seem so remarkable.
