Because what the world wants is another first person shooter.

Sorry, sorry, I don't really want to piss on your parade. And don't get me wrong, I have nothing inherently against the genre. Several of my all-time favourite games are FPSs. But it's been done so, so, so, sooo many times. A FPS has to bring something downright fucking amazing to the table for me to give the slightest of shits.
I'm just not getting the 'something amazing' smell from Far Cry 3. Sure, the mechanics looked polished and the definition-of-insanity guy was sorta interesting. But given the current market saturation, that just isn't going to cut it.
In short, FC3 looks like the kind of game I buy about a year after release for $15 during a Steam sale. Then I half-heartedly play it while waiting for something genuinely interesting.
