I loved the options you could have in the game. The only people who would have a really hard time with the game are the linear FPS fans. Other than that, the only problem I have with it is that horrible save corruption glitch.
Er, isn't that sort of the whole point? Have you ever noticed how the word "critic" sounds kinda like "criticise"? That's not a coincidence.TMAN10112 said:I agree with most of the review, though it seems like it (and most others) focus more on the things wrong with the game rather then what it got right.
And if that's exactly what the reviewer did, so what? I suppose they could put "this is a SP review" at the top just to make it clear. But I personally see nothing wrong with writing SP-only reviews, especially for FPS games that are SP-oriented and only have MP as an added extra.TMAN10112 said:There is just one thing that really bothers me about this, and most other reviews; It makes no mention of the multiplayer. I have never had a good experience with any of the Farcry game's multi-player. I always see so much possibility in them, but they usually just tack on a death match and call it a day. It's a bad habit with a number of FPSs now that they feel required to put in a multi-player aspect. There's nothing wrong with a purely single-player game. I admit I never looked into the FC2 multiplayer, so who knows, maybe its spectacular, but I prefer to play multi-player games that have been worked on an balanced as a multi-player game (i.e. CSS, Tf2, L4D).onelifecrisis said:And if that's exactly what the reviewer did, so what? I had a look at your profile and to be completely off-topic, those components are nothing special.Devilpapaya said:The glitches I experienced had nothing to do with "specs" (check my user profile) they were not graphical or calculation issues. They were issues in level design. Doors that don't open when they are supposed to are not something a more powerful GPU will fix. As for you not having any issues, that's great, I didn't say it affected every game/system, but check the Ubisoft forums the non-opening door glitch has affected some users on every platform. Rumor is that it has something to do with where the game spawns the NPC on the other side of the door. Also, not all of the glitches were that big of a deal, just minor annoyances, but when a glitch prevents me from finishing a game I ask myself, "how did this get out of Beta?"headshotcatcher said:Pretty good review, although i don't exactly agree on the glitches. I've never had any glitches (except for the graphical one that made hills look pink and green) while playing it, maybe your specs don't live up to what the computer desires?
Yes, They're not the newest or best, but that wasn't the point... the point was that they are far more than is needed to run the game, therefore invalidated his accusation that the problems I faced were due to the performance of my system.sneak_copter said:I had a look at your profile and to be completely off-topic, those components are nothing special.Devilpapaya said:The glitches I experienced had nothing to do with "specs" (check my user profile) they were not graphical or calculation issues. Apart from that, the review was OK.
B.
eh, that's part true. You're not really trying to save the nation in the beginning. You're just a hired gun to kill the arms dealer, not so much a hero, as your benefactor just has a grudge against this guy. Anyway, that small part goes to hell as soon as you contract malaria anyways. He ends up saving you like 3 times, and the rest of the game you're helping the warlords kill each other.scnj said:Only one criticism with this review, and that's the very beginning. Isn't the point to go in and kill the guy who is destabilizing the nation, not destabilize it yourself?
