Okay I like Firefox, but does anyone else get really sick of the constant updates?
Really? Not to sound like a Firefox fanboy but Firefox has one of the smoothest update mechanisms of all the browsers out there.
It bugs you to restart your browser, that alone pisses me the hell off, I have many tabs open, all in order, all colour coded perfectly, and when I restart it I have to do it again.
Not to sound like yet another fanboy, but no, you don't.
Err yes you do. Session Manager/etc are fine, they help, but they don't restore it perfectly the way I had it, things get moved into different groups, tab groups get the wrong colours, etc. It's basically a huge pain in the ass.

Then I don't know what firefox/possible add-on version you are using, because for me it's a perfect 1:1 recall, including individual tab page history. It even remembers not only the tab that I had open, but the exact scroll positions on that page as well. It is literally like I never stopped browsing the web.

Sorry, but I don't know how you've mangled Firefox to a state where that doesn't function.

Hmm, try saying the topic title really fast a few times.
Honestly, I just don't understand how people can find Farmville interesting.
Then again, maybe they don't, maybe they just need something to kill time.
Then couldn't they read something?

I don't really care. I actually pay for all the games I play, because I find most flash games boring and free MMOs too addictive for a few weeks/months and then boring.

That's the price and payoff of open-source software. With millions of people using and improving it, there will be lots of patches.

Also, am I the only person on these forums who enjoys Farmville? [shields against future flames]

Because the fact I don't love the browser unconditionally means I've somehow stuffed it up... ha! It might reopen the tabs, it might remember the scroll position (a very handy feature) but it doesn't remember groupings (i.e all my escapist pages are the same colour and grouped together) and it doesn't remember which colour they were in, among other things.

So yes, for me, I don't like constantly restarting my browser for stupid updates that could wait for a cumulative patch.

I like the notion that the Beta testers didn't catch this. Seems people who run beta builds of a web browser don't spend a lot of time in Farmville haha.
That's because they're not setting their alarm clock on chocolate cows.

Rather, that because you clearly lack some of the functionality I have (and I have very few add-ons/modifications to the core firefox), I either have some add-on you don't or there is something wrong with your firefox.

Considering you know of Session Manager (that happens to be my only add-on dealing with tabs), this puts the difference into the second case. And most of the time, the reason for something not working is PEBCAK: Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard.

So, you are complaining of a problem that I have never run into and the way you present it, I should have ran into it a long time ago what with my 'spam tabs' approach to browsing.

What else am I supposed to think here?

It might reopen the tabs, it might remember the scroll position (a very handy feature) but it doesn't remember groupings
For me it does.

So yes, for me, I don't like constantly restarting my browser for stupid updates that could wait for a cumulative patch.
Which brings us to the reason we can't seem to agree: you are suffering from a combination of factors which create a problem. Except, I have never ran into the first factor (groupings coming undone with browser restart) and that results in the second factors being just a minor nitcpick.

FarmVille............................

Yea..................................

I guess the devs were just forced to do it to maintain the browser userbase...

I actually get a kick out of this. However, for all of you FarmVille haters, it wasn't just FarmVille, or just Zynga games affected. I play a lot of FB games and many of them would creash with the 10 sec handler. Also, I couldn't even watch youtube videos without a crash. I personally think it's Adobe and the programmers that need to get their act together. Adobe should know the "quality-range" of products made with their software, and update accordingly. And Zynga should cease making excuses for their crappy programming. One of the main reasons that I stopped playing FarmVille was for the real reason that this FF update was made, the game crashed my entire browser for its crappy coding, and when it didn't crash my browser, the game would hang so bad I could barely scroll through the game.

I <3 my other FB games though, and youtube, so I didn't care for the crash handler killing them before they loaded.
