Running, tread mill whatever....
Push your body. Make you body know your running x amount of distance.
It'll start adapting and dropping weight, if body must run, body will drop pounds to make it easier, if a good diet of normal foods is near fat is not needed to be retained. If your not wanting to make drastic changes to fast in diet, try turkey burgers or just turkey in general for red meat. It tastes good, and has at times less than half the fat.
The best diet and exercise plan is one you enjoy, find foods you enjoy in moderation. But nothing kicks the human body in the ass like running, lots of running.
As well do not tape your waist line constantly...once a month maybe. You'll see a need for a belt like I did with my gym time.
People will spout how this is better than X and you can only eat this or that. In the end faster is not always better. Best to be your target self in a year or two and have a plan you enjoy sticking to, than take a six month crash work out course you hate, and be back to how you were or worse in two years because you couldn't keep it up. Just remember the human body is a machine. You don't move you pack on weight, you don't eat it packs on weight thinking there is a food shortage (yep your a animal) biking machines are cute they just work the legs freely, running causes your body as a whole to become bulk and your body will change... add some full body routines to round it out and yer good.
Good luck.
