Fatalities are an amazingly satisfying way to say "IN YOUR FACE" to your opponent. In Mortal Kombat they have always been the highlights.
In the new mortal kombat fatalities seem to be the main marketing juice. Now from what I recall, pulling of a fatality in Mortal Kombat is not easy, to be honest it's annoying since it requires a specific button sequence in perfect time and position, there was no menu or manual that told you how to do them, instead we had to look them up or buy game guides to learn the precious knowledge.
Almost all my friends and fellow gamers I played with admitted that pulling of a fatality is not easy and how they had to always look it up since the games never gave a tutorial on them.
If I'm missing or mistaken something please correct me.
My point is , If fatalities were as they were before (really hard to pull off and annoying to learn) why make them the main selling point ? unless they changed the fatality system (If they actually placed a tutorial on how to do them then YAY !) it makes little sense.
