First, the definition of Faux Pas: A faux pas (pronounced /ˌfoʊˈpɑː/, plural: faux pas /ˌfoʊˈpɑː(z)/) is a violation of accepted, although unwritten, social rules.

Now, on to the meaty stuff. Post the link to Images that may be considered a Faux Pas by today's political climate in the west. Or maybe just something unintentionally funny by today's standards.

Now, tell me that ain't just a.w.e.s.o.me.

To the mods: If this becomes a thread filled with 4chan memes, or just plain obscenities feel free to close it.

Call me thick, but how is that a faux pas? I can't seem to recall the unwritten rule.
Well, given the climate in the west after the Cold War, you could just say that some things still linger on.

I'll quote Hillary Clinton on that one, when she was talking about Vladimir Putin:

"He was a KGB agent. By definition he doesn?t have a soul".

If you are from the west you are not supposed to empathize with the russkies' army at all. After all, it was part of the Red Scare.

Hope that cleared it a little.

EDIT: Just the thought of signaling the Russian Federation Army's soldiers as your Friends, or fighting for freedom would be enough to piss someone off, at least around these parts of the globe.

Ahh. I live in Oregon, but not being very educated on (Or Alive in) that time period, the joke flew right over mah head.

Still, I understand it now, and I agree it's funny.
