Attack on Titan's pretty good, get's you pumped.
Also Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo.
Oh and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

I'm not a big anime fan, however the first intro for Soul Eater, which happens to be one of the animes I like, is so good. The music is awesome and the lyrics are both cool and relevant to the show.


Also, someone already said Rock the Dragon, but this was always my favourite DBZ opening.

The show itself was only great for the first 8 episodes or so, bu I've always loved this intro

I don't normally watch the openings to shows unless they are really good. Beyond the Boundary, Wolf's Rain, and Baccanno are among the very few that I never did skip, and of all of those, Beyond the Boundary is definitely does did the best job of getting me excited to see each episode.

The opening of Baccano is really good, glad its already been mentioned a few times. So now i'm just going to post a few others I like.

Apparently it's almost impossible to find a video of it that hasn't been hit with copyright or just isn't an awful spanish fandub version.

That dance...

While we're at it the first opening for Space Brothers is pretty good too.

In truth, I don't really have a favorite, but here's one that's stuck with me since my childhood:


It's the lovely Taga Tame Ni (For Whose Sake), sung by Narita Ken with backup vocals by Koorogi '73.

The anime wasn't as great as the original Visual Novel, but damn that OP song is great.
Another great song.
Yet another awesome song, shame the second OP wasn't as good.

Now that I think about it, I seldom care about the OP besides the song used.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann's opening is always one that psyches me up for anything, especially pre-exam study for some reason.

These are the two that come to mind that haven't been mentioned yet. The first is just a personal favorite show, and the second is great because it answers the question "what sound does a toilet make?" The answer may surprise you.

because the world is simply too large for only one Flash Gordon theme. Can you believe that that footage was just scraped together to make something for the US broadcast?

EDIT 2: Electric Boogaloo: So apparently Outlaw Star WAS mentioned... Give me a break, it's ~midnight and I'm out of caffeine.

My current favourites are as follows:

Back in the days I actually really enjoyed Bleach

Death Note (I really like both openings)



However, none of these are my favourite pieces of anime music, that title has to go to Near's theme from Death Note. It also helps that Near is my favourite anime character of all time (a fact which a lot of people find controversial for some reason)


I used to have this as my ring tone. It felt suitably epic when someone called me.

Well I love bleach's 12th opening. ChaNge. Fast paced and very exciting. It was good at hyping me.


The 10th one is the coolest though, even if it is not my favourite. I just love the music, the visuals. The Charlies Angels vibe they got going on.


Fairy tail has a lot of my favourite openings, but it'd take me an hour to start talking about all of the ones I like.

Well my favorite has already been mentioned a few times: Abingdon Boys School - Howling (Darker Than Black).

Also Black Lagoon and Death Note.

Sidenote: I can't wait for Destrose to make an anime opening(hopefully it will happen). ;)
