Thought of this after making my favorite discontinued food/snack thread. Anyone ever had a restaraunt, whether it was a part of a chain or a single location, have you ever had a restaraunt you really liked just close? personally the only Arby's within 30 miles of me closed and it really sucked. No mor au jus dip!

Anita's Mexican Diner.
It had really good food, and since the one in Manassass closed, we have to go way out of our way to get delicious Mexican food.

There was this really awesome pancake place near my house I used to eat breakfast at all the time. I can't quite remember what their name was, but I remember they had a signature dish called the "Jackson 5"

It was 4 chocolate pancakes and 1 vanilla pancake.

And now I feel like a terrible human being.

That is amazing. It's a wonder they went out of business.

I can't tell if that was sarcastic or not. D:

Tough call. Do I choose Quick Byte (formerly Fair Village Market) with their awesome dollar burgers? Do I choose Como's Pizza with their super greasy but super tasty pizza pies? Do I choose Brother's Pizza, a favourite of mine growing up? Do I choose King Cone with the best ice cream in my home town? Do I choose Casey's which had the greatest birthday deal ever?

...

I have no idea. I'm going to go with Como's Pizza because I miss Como. I have no idea what his real name was; we all just called him Como. I wonder what he's doing now.

Asahi Kaiten. Best Japanese restaurant ever; it not only had a conveyor belt with little plates that you could just grab at will, but some really creative and brilliant dishes on the menu. I couldn't believe when it closed; I hate when a place's future has nothing to do with how good the food and service are.

A close runner-up would be Daruma. It was a delightful little Japanese market in Bethesda (Pocky and Ramune, anyone?), that also functioned as a surprisingly great restaurant. It was kind of tucked away though, and I think it just ran out of money. The world misses it, I think.

Local, the Fuddrucker's here closed which sucked big time. It was so much better than any other one I've been to also.

Of all time, there was a little hole-in-the-wall oriental buffet called China Doll which had the absolute best egg rolls and the rest of thier food was really, really good. I even absolutely loved thier Egg Drop Soup which I usually don't go for. Even though this place wasn't local, my family would still make the trip there at least every other week. So good; so worth it!

Only one comes to mind but it didn't really close down for long. There was a pizza place called "Freddie's" near my house when I used to live in Chicago. My family knew the owner and I would always get discounts and stuff like that. The pizza was the best I have ever eaten and there were a few arcade machines in the place too (Galaga and one of the Samurai Showdown games). Sadly enough it closed down. A year later I moved to where I'm currently living. A few years after, a pizza place opened up a few blocks away called "Freddie's". I went there and found out it was the same place, it had the same owner. I couldn't believe it. I got to eat that kick ass pizza again, hell I just did the other day. True story ^_^
